The disappearance of Kiely Rodni: Missing teen's mom pleads for safe return as CHILLING clues point to abduction
TRUCKEE, CALIFORNIA: A 16-year-old girl is missing after attending a party at a campground in the Tahoe area. According to the sheriff's office, it is possible that the teenager may have been abducted. Kiely Rodni was last seen around 1:30 am on Saturday, August 6, 2022, near the Prosser Family Campground, about 10 minutes north of Truckee. The sheriff's office said that she was at a party "of more than 100 juveniles and young adults" before disappearing.
Her vehicle, a silver 2013 Honda CRV, is also missing, and her phone is out of service. According to the campground's site, cell service in the area is generally good. Daily Mail reported the teen was due to meet up with her friends at a Starbucks on Saturday morning at 9 am to set off on a camping trip but she didn't show up, sparking fear among her friends and prompting her mother Lindsey Nieman to call 911. Now it seems as if a series of clues have emerged in the mystery of Rodni's disappearance who cops believe was abducted as her cell phone has not had a signal since she left the Prosser Family Campground.

Rodni's devastated mom fought back tears as she appealed for her daughter to come home. Nieman pleaded with her daughter's "captor" to let her go, and expressed her fear that she was taken against her will and is now being held hostage. In a heartbreaking video, she said, “We're so scared, and we miss her so much, and we love her so much. And Kiely, we love you, and if you see this, please just come home," adding, "I want nothing more than to hug you. And if anybody else out there if you know where she is, if you know anything about where she might be, if you have any ideas or thoughts, please come forward and share them."
Nieman said, "We're not looking to arrest anybody or get anybody in trouble we just want to see our daughter home," The Sun reported. She revealed the FBI had now joined the search for her daughter and that while galling, she is relieved the case is now being investigated ferociously.
Nieman also posted on Facebook stating that over 20 separate units and agencies have been involved in the search. She appealed to family members, friends, and locals to join in the search effort.
"They've changed it to an abduction which makes me feel validated. My daughter is not the runaway type, not to stigmatize kids who are but my daughter is not. She had the resources to run away and would have done if she wanted to," Nieman added.
"I last saw her on Friday morning, she was going to meet us to go to a vintage car show but then she changed her mind and wanted to go to this party instead. I extended her curfew, I had done it before and felt safe. She texted me at 11.30 pm to say she would be leaving at 12.15 am to come home. She said 'I love you, mom.' That was the last I heard from her," she further said.
Nieman added that she has no idea if Kiely left the party willingly with someone she either knew or had just met, or if she was taken by a stranger.
Her latest update said, “Thank you to everyone that came out tonight to give any information about Kiely. Unfortunately, no leads were found that were significant to the case but we can still do more."
Rodni is five feet seven inches tall and weighs 118 pounds, her family said. The girl has blonde hair, hazel eyes, and a tattoo on her ribs. She was last seen wearing green Dickies pants, a black tank top, and jewelry.
Anna Larson is the mother of one of Kiely's best friends and is also Lindsey's best friend. Daily Mail reported that Larson said Kiely was too drunk to be able to drive herself home. She and others involved in the search do not believe that she could have had an accident because they still haven't found her vehicle.
"We did a thorough search of the woods where the party was and now we're going to smaller towns. We believe she was taken. Nobody we know left with her, nobody else is missing from the party. She wasn't in a state where she could have driven very far. She was inebriated. We don't know if it was someone who was attending the party or a predator. We also don't know if there's someone she planned to go and meet who we don't know about yet. It is a nightmare."
Friends and family have launched a GoFundMe to raise reward money in the hopes that it could generate tips and lead to her discovery. A reward of $5,000 has been offered and anyone with information that can help cops should call the Placer County Sheriff’s Office at (530) 886-5375.
