'WITCHCRAFT': Outrage as Kentucky summer camp teaches teens masturbation and 'Pee, Poop, Pleasure'
HAZARD, KENTUCKY: A Kentucky-based virtual sex education summer camp has angered people on the internet as it reportedly taught teenagers and people of all ages about “self-pleasure”, “sex on drugs”, and “self-managed abortion info share”. Though the alleged camp took place in July and August of 2021, it went viral recently after investigative journalist Christopher F Rufo shared about it in a series of tweets.
Rufo posted the photos of the women who ran the camp called Sexy Sex Ed along with their descriptions as he wrote, “These women are running a ‘Sexy Summer Camp’ for children in rural Kentucky, with lessons on ‘sex liberation,’ ‘gender exploration,’ ‘BDSM,’ ‘being a sex worker,’ ‘self-managed abortions,’ and ‘sexual activity while using licit and illicit drugs.’”

In later tweets, he shared the “agenda for the camp” and also posted a video with the caption, “The leader of Sexy Summer Camp recommends that children begin to masturbate as toddlers. ‘Masturbation is really healthy and I recommend it to people of all ages. All ages. As soon as my nephews could talk, they were doing that.’”

Rufo also added, “As part of the Sexy Summer Camp's ‘self-pleasure workshop,’ instructors promise to give a ‘hands-on’ lesson simulating masturbation on students' hands. The founder of Sexy Summer Camp, Tanya Turner, identifies as a witch. She says she was raised by ‘a host of witchy women’ in a ‘coven-like mountain matriarchy.’ She uses tarot cards, crystals, and sex toys as part of her practice and encourages people to ‘join her coven.’”

The website of Sexy Sex Ed also describes itself as a “workshop series that compels teenagers and people of all ages to openly discuss personal and political consent, sexual safety, and anatomy. Using visual & performance art, open dialogue, and popular education methods, Sexy Sex Ed fills a vital gap in reproductive education as a creative, cultural healing solution in rural Appalachia.”
Meanwhile, Rufo’s tweets have attracted a lot of attention online with a user angrily asking, “WHAT???!!! Are the parents informed about all this before sending their kids to this camp??? How can this be allowed?”
Another user said, “I lived for years near that area. Berea College has been a hotbed for leftist activism and secular paganism for decades already. 'Tis no surprise to see this turning toward the even darker side of plain old witchcraft.”

The problem is not the people who run this camp, the problem is the parents who send their kids there.

Another person tweeted, “The problem is not the people who run this camp, the problem is the parents who send their kids there.”
The second person noted, “They are openly coming for our kids. No consequences for those associated with Epstein has put our kids in so much more danger. Wake up people. We all need to stand together and protect our kids!”
“Who would have thought the strict Christian home I rebelled against as a teenager is what I now consider the best environment I could have ever had?! Thank God my parents loved me enough to shield me from things like this,” the third one wrote and the fourth one added, “Parents that let their kids participate should be investigated.”
