'Kenan': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about NBC’s single-camera comedy
‘Saturday Night Live’ fame Kenan is all set to entertain you in his upcoming comedy on NBC, which sees him as a widower trying to strike a balance between his high-profile job and as a single father raising two daughters. Kenan will premiere on February 16 at 8.30 pm ET on NBC.
Plot
The synopsis for ‘Kenan’ reads, “This single-camera comedy follows a widowed dad, Kenan (Kenan Thompson), who's juggling a high-profile job as the host of an Atlanta morning show and raising his two girls. As Kenan tries to move on, his father-in-law (Don Johnson), brother (Chris Redd) and co-workers all have strong opinions on the best way to live his life.”
“The show centers on the familial relationships as Kenan tries to reclaim his life after his wife's death. Kenan's daughters are his world — the too smart Aubrey (Dani Lane) and the silly, unpredictable Birdie (Dannah Lane). He struggles to balance parenting them as a single dad and hosting his show, which leads him to reluctantly accept help from his father-in-law, Rick. Rick was a gallivanting sax player when his daughter, Cori (Niccole Thurman), was young and missed out on a lot of her childhood, so he is aiming to make that up with his granddaughters, although his old-school parenting style does not often match up to Kenan's,” it reads further.

Kenan Thompson
Kenan Thompson will be seen as Kenan Williams in NBC comedy. He is best known as the cast member of ‘Saturday Night Live’. He is the longest-tenured cast member in the show’s history. He began his acting career in the 90s and rose to fame through Nickelodeon’s sketch comedy series ‘All That’. His film credits include ‘Hubie Halloween’, ‘Trolls World Tour’, ‘Wonder Park’ among others. He has also won a Primetime Emmy Award.
Chris Redd
Chris Redd will be playing the role of Gary Williams in ‘Kenan’. Similar to Kenan, he is also a cast member of ‘Saturday Night Live’ since 2017. He is known for playing Hunter the Hungry in ‘Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping’. Redd has featured in films such as ‘Vampires vs. the Bronx’, ‘Deep Murder’, ‘A Futile and Stupid Gesture’ and ‘Handsome’.
The rest of the cast of Kenan includes Don Johnson, Dani Lane and Niccole Thurman.

The pilot episode of ‘Kenan’ is directed by American comedian and television producer Chris Rock, while David Caspe and Jackie Clarke wrote the script. Lorne Michaels, David Caspe, Jackie Clarke, Kenan Thompson, Ken Whittingham and Andrew Singer serve as executive producers.
