As far as new beginnings go, Kelly Osbourne is planning to make the most of her new year.

Taking to Instagram to share a sobriety update with her fans, the 35-year-old singer spoke about how 2019 treated her.

"2019 has been one hell of a year," she captioned a collage of her photographs clicked through the year. "In many ways, it has been amazing especially in terms of self-growth. In many ways, it has been gut-wrenchingly difficult."

Despite the ups and downs of the year, 2019 was a year full of new lessons. And for Osbourne, it has taught her to prioritize herself over anyone else.

"However, through all the good and bad, it has been incredibly educational for me. I have come to the realization that I constantly put the needs of others before my own. I allow myself to be put in situations that make me feel uncomfortable for fear of upsetting someone else. Not forgetting the amount of times I co-sign the bullshit of others," she wrote.

She ended the letter with a promise to herself that she will put her needs over anyone else's and that she will make the most of the coming year. "With almost 2 1/2 years of sobriety under my belt, I still struggle with confrontation (which was NEVER a problem when I was using). Well this all STOPS today. 2020 is going to be the year of me!!! It’s time to put myself first, stop taking on other peoples shit and be the badass sober women I was born to be. #HappyNewYear I love you guys πŸ’œ" she wrote.

There was a time when she had said that she thought she couldn't get anything done if she wasn't under the influence.

"I didn't think I could do anything if I wasn't drunk or high, because I was scared of everything. I let it get the better of me," she had said. "Now seeing that I don't need that and my life is better... I don't have any drama in my life. I have accepted the fact that β€” and I know I have said this throughout my whole life, but I really understand it now β€” that I am not perfect and I am never going to be and I don't want to be."

She had taken to Instagram to share the news of 2 years of sobriety.
