Kayleigh McEnany says she was ‘shocked, horrified’ as Capitol violence erupted, Internet calls her ‘Lying Barbie’

Former White House press secretary has shown her shock over the January 6 attack as she said she expected it to be a peaceful event. Kayleigh McEnany appeared for her first time after leaving the White House on Fox News, where she claimed she was shocked that the pro-Trump "Stop the Steal" rally turned deadly. "I think at the beginning of the day, before everyone went to the rally, everyone was expecting peace. We had been to hundreds of rallies - I've probably been to hundreds at this point, certainly many dozens - and they were nothing but peaceful events, and we expected that day to be the same,” she said.

As per an excerpt of the interview that will air later Tuesday on ‘The Faulkner Focus’, the 32-year-old continued, “And then as those events transpired, it was disbelief, shock, somber, sad, horrified by the violence, and it was a very hard, difficult day in the White House, there is no doubt.” McEnany also said that the temper in the White House was a "synonymous feeling" of horror when the insurrection happened that claimed the lives of five people, including Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick. She added "everyone" was "just completely condemning the actions of that day."

But McEnany’s words were contradicting the reality, as reports said that when the deadly attack broke out at the Capitol building, Trump, who was at the White House that time, was happy with it. One former aide of the Republican was quoted by CNN saying he was "loving watching the Capitol mob.” Reportedly, he also ignored his aides' advice to intervene and ask his supporters to stop.

After the riot, McEnany held a two-minute conference. At the time, she denounced the attack and branded it as "appalling, reprehensible, and antithetical to the American way." However, her recent statement on Fox News has garnered her a lot of flak online. One user tweeted, “Your a SICK B***H. Only Racist FOX gives you time to talk. how is unemployment? maybe you should move to another country. go clean mar a Lago.” The second user said, “I cannot, I repeat. I cannot stand to hear your voice one more time. It’s like nails on a chalkboard. Just plain disgusting. Good luck with your new career.” “It is very difficult to lie more transparently than Kayleigh McEnany does,” a person said.

Another person noted, “Breaking News. #KayleighMcEnany interview: Lying Liars Lying & #griftersgonnagrift playing the victim.” “Will you denounce the white supremacist insurrection trump incited?” a user asked. Another remarked, “Oh poor gal. From the moment she stepped up to the podium and said she’d never lie, #KikiLied Always has. Always will. Future employers take note. Also, this is how I like to remember her because this is who she really is and, she hates this picture.”

“The coronavirus will NEVER come to America. Who said it? Why our gal LYING barbie of course! Wonder if she'll discuss that today?” one Twitter user remarked while another added: “Lol. Just like Trump, there was nothing but lies over lies to the point where any conferences were for entertainment purposes more than information. Jen Psaki is such a relief and a joy to watch; a true professional period. Anyway we have learned & are moving on. God Bless.”
