BRENTWOOD, CALIFORNIA: Katy Perry's hairdo in a recent episode of 'American Idol' has been compared to 'Scream 3' baby bangs sported by Courteney Cox's character Gale Weathers. As the judge take up her hot seat in the April 23 episode, viewers took to social media to brutally troll the 'Roar' singer.

'American Idol' judge Katy was booed by the live crowd in Hawaii during a recent broadcast. The 'Hot N Cold' singer was booed for her criticism of contender Nutsa Buzaladze. Katy urged that Nutsa tone down her performances since they are too exuberant and full of glitter. Now that the Idol judge has returned, she is once again a hot topic on social media, but this time for her new look!

'American Idol' has relocated to a larger studio. 'The Golden Girls' and 'I Love Lucy' were both shot in the same area. Katy rushed to Instagram just before the episode aired to share some images from the current episode of the ABC show. On Sunday night, the 'One That Got Away' singer made a statement in a body-tight sparkling green strapless dress. "This show is not for the faint of 💚," the 38-year-old pop diva said in the post. "Watch #idol for the Top 20 reveal and keep your phone charged to vote after the show 🗳️📱 📸: @biancanicdao."

Followers soon compared the Idol judge to 'Scream' actor Cox in her comment section. During a visit to 'The Drew Barrymore Show' in 2022, Cox commented about her infamous short fringe in 'Scream 3'. Cox, who appears in all five 'Scream' films, claimed that she worked hard to develop a distinct look for her character Gale in each installment of the franchise. The fringe hairdo was a clip-on, according to the 'Friends' star, but there was only 'one set' of fringe to deal with in the film. But she explained, "for some reason," the hairpiece was placed in the center of her head, and the fringe was clipped from there.

Goes without saying honestly lol, what happened to the great style she had 15 years ago?" People on Instagram went crazy as they write, "It’s giving gale weathers from scream 3." Another person added to her BTS post, "Katy i love you but that hair ain't it." One person asked, "Beaut but what is this hair."

'American Idol' Season 21 airs every Sunday and Monday at 8 pm ET on ABC.
