It's just a matter of time before the live-action series of 'Katy Keene' premieres on The CW. The teen drama follows the lives of four young adults in New York City.

Ahead of the show's release, the network has released a poster featuring the key characters — Katy Keene (Lucy Hale), Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray), Pepper Smith (Julia Chan) and Jorge Lopez (Jonny Beauchamp).

The cast also includes Zane Holtz as KO Kelly, Katerine LaNasa as Gloria Grandbilt, and Camille Hyde and Lucien Laviscount as Alexandra and Alexander Cabot.

According to a report by Seventeen, Lucy Hale, who plays the titular character, has said the show would be about four friends optimistically trying to make their dreams come true in New York City.

Termed as a musical dramedy, the series will also infuse music into the plotlines. In what comes across as an interesting piece of news, Aguirre-Sacasa said a crossover between 'Riverdale' characters and 'Katy Keene' is a possibility during the SDCC.

"We'll definitely try and make that happen," he said. Aguirre-Sacasa serves as the executive producer for both The CW shows.

And it did. "Before Katy Keene officially premieres, we all thought it would be super-fun to do a crossover that took Veronica to Katy's world—New York City—and established Katy in the Riverdale universe," Aguirre-Sacasa and fellow executive producer Michael Grassi, said in a statement when the crossover was announced.

Murray's Josie McCoy has been one of the main characters in the first three seasons of 'Riverdale' as well.

Talking about the 'Katy Keene' crossover, the showrunner said it would be a bit of a time paradox. "The show is set five years in the future, meaning, if the 'Riverdale' kids were on Katy Keene, they would be five years older, or if 'Katy Keene' characters come in, then they will still be in High School."

There has been a New York and Katy Keene reference made by Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) in the ongoing season of 'Riverdale'.

'Katy Keene' is set to debut on February 6, 2020, at 8/7c on The CW.
