Former Democrat Representative Katie Hill from California, who got embroiled in a scandal for inappropriate sexual relationships with congressional staffers, is now mulling another run for office. Hill resigned from office in 2019 after her nude photos got leaked and prompted an investigation by the House Ethics Committee. At that time, she apologized for her 'inappropriate' affair, and stated, “I am going through a divorce from an abusive husband who seems determined to try to humiliate me. I am disgusted that my opponents would seek to exploit such a private matter for political gain. This coordinated effort to try to destroy me and the people close to me is despicable and will not succeed. I, like many women who have faced attacks like this before, am stronger than those who want me to be afraid.”

Meanwhile, she sued her ex-husband Kenneth 'Kenny' Heslep over allegations of abuse and filed for a divorce. She also accused him of ruining her political career by exposing the pair's 'throuple' relationship with a young female campaign staffer. Hill even obtained a restraining order against him that mandated Heslep to stay at least 100 yards away from her. In her latest interview with Axios, Hill opened up about her political future, saying, "It would take a lot for me to run in '22. There's got to be a very compelling reason for me to want to do it. And we'll just have to see if that’s, that comes to be.”

Where is Kenneth Heslep now?

Kenny Heslep and Katie Hill had been together for over 15 years before their marriage ended in a bitter divorce. While filing for a restraining order against Heslep, Katie Hill had accused him of threatening and choking her on occasions. Additionally, Hill also sued DailyMail and Redstate for publishing her nude photos without permission.

Heslep, on the other hand, had consistently denied all the allegations. From March to May 2020, he regularly ranted about Hill on social media, accusing her of falsehood. "I filed for divorce 9 months ago. Katie Hill, why won’t you let me divorce you you? You won’t even come to the table to negotiate again, let alone uphold the court filed documents that you signed... Is it really just to have some sad, pathetic bit of control over me?" he posted on Twitter in March 2020.

In May last year, Heslep tweeted an article about Katie Hill's alleged young lover, with the caption, "Well this seems to complicate parts of a certain someone’s bedtime stories."

Surprisingly, he stopped being active on Twitter ever since. In October 2020, reports surfaced that Hill had 'quietly' settled her divorce from Kenny Heslep. Speaking to DailyMail about the divorce settlement, Heslep's lawyer said at the time that Katie Hill's accusations against him were all 'smoke and mirrors'.

Despite the highly-publicized allegations of abuse in their relationship, the divorce was settled amicably between the two without any mention of domestic violence or abuse in the divorce documents. "It was settled pursuant to the mutual agreement of the parties. They reached an out-of-court settlement," Heslep's lawyer had informed.

However, in March 2021, New York Post reported that the pair's attempts to come to a settlement agreement did not succeed. The lawsuit Hill filed against her ex-husband to prevent him from revealing her private photos and information was deemed to go to trial. At that time, lawyers from both sides prompted the judge to set a date for a court hearing for the case.

On June 2, 2021, Los Angeles Superior Court judge Yolanda Orozco awarded DailyMail $103,625 in attorney fees in connection with Katie Hill's revenge porn lawsuit, which Hill was ordered to pay. "Here, the intimate images published by (the Daily Mail) spoke to (Hill’s) character and qualifications for her position…Accordingly, the images were a matter of public issue or public interest," the judge wrote.

Kenny Heslep is believed to be staying away from the spotlight at present, but fresh details about him might surface in the wake of Katie Hill's latest interview.
