Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton feud forces Prince William and Prince Harry to split their staff
The two princes of British royalty are ending their “double act” and are creating separate courts to reflect their shifting responsibilities. This process, which would also involve the division of their shared household staff in the coming weeks, is also expected to ease the rising tension between Prince William and Prince Harry.
According to Daily Mail, the most noticeable split will be within their communications team, owing to the fact that the palace has struggled to deal with the rising number of negative articles pertaining to Harry’s wife Meghan Markle.
Some personnel in the communication team felt their advise regarding bad press over Meghan fell on deaf ears, and got frustrated over this.
One of the most troubling headlines we have seen regarding William’s wife Kate Middleton and Meghan is that the latter reduced her sister-in-law to tears during the bridesmaid dress fitting ahead of the much-publicized royal wedding of May, 2018. Reportedly, tensions are rising between the brothers as well.
There have also been reports that suggest that Meghan aka Duchess Difficult, who is expecting her first child in April, is “dictatorial” towards the staff and the Palace hopes that the split and the lack of close proximity would help the two families co-exist.
As of now, 37-year-old US PR guru Jason Knauf, advices both couples on media-related matters. Knauf has so far denied the rumors that he would henceforth only concentrate on William and Kate, while his deputy Christian Jones would offer his expertise to the younger brother and his wife.
However, sources suggest that he is in fact at his wits end with the Sussexes after Meghan’s closest friends “set the record straight” regarding her troubled relationship with her father, Thomas Markle.
This was apparently the tipping point for Knauf. The approval for the interview that Meghan’s friends, who remain anonymous, gave was supposed to have come from the former Hollywood starlet. Although it was meant to clear the air regarding Meghan’s own association with her father, the plan backfired after Thomas released excerpts from a handwritten letter that his daughter sent him, requesting him to stop giving statements to media.
The letter also contained some statements regarding Meghan’s half-sister Samantha Markle, who is notorious for her allegations against Meghan. She also retaliated to Meghan’s letter with more accusations, and the demand that the Duchess take lie detector test to prove once and for all, whose side of the story is true.
It goes without saying that it would be a PR nightmare to combat with these situations regularly, and it is only natural for Knauf to look for easier ways to deal with being the communications head for the royals.
