Kasey Young: Sick Louisiana woman fired for pouring water on homeless person as temperatures plummet
BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA: Kasey Young, a Louisiana gas station employee, was fired after a video captured her tossing a huge bucket of water at a homeless person in a chilly 26 degree environment. The 44-year-old had uploaded the video from the incident herself.
The incident took place at the Triple S Food Mart on Foster Drive in Baton Rouge on December 26. In the video, Young was seen circling the store's exterior while holding a bucket. She can hear a man's voice recording the scene while he is walking next to her. Young exclaims, "Move!" after throwing the water. Young added, "Not telling y'all again. Move it! Clean this s**t the f**k up," and someone can be heard saying, "I'm doing it!" Young continues, "I'm sick of this s**t. Y'all got my whole f******g floor looking like a..." The man, who was previously audible in the video, was overheard telling a different homeless person to leave the parking lot, per The Daily Mail.

Abdul Muflahi, the owner of the shop, publicly announced Young's termination on December 27. "When I got the news, I didn't speak to the employee too much," he stated in a press conference, adding, "All I told her was to leave the property because we do not handle situations like that."
Young routinely posts videos of herself at work to her Facebook page. Just a few hours before posting a video of the splashing incident, she shared another video in which she was heard gushing about her love of gummy bear candy.
At a press conference, activist Larry McGriffin said, "For someone to get ice cold water thrown on them in these below-freezing temperatures is just disrespectful. It also could’ve hurt this person physically." An employee of the Triple S Food Mart told WAFB that Young was renowned for feeding the local homeless population and that on the particular morning, she had simply lost her temper.
Mayor Sharon Weston Broome said in a statement that the homeless person concerned had been discovered by authorities and sent to a shelter. "The white store employee, Kasey Young, has been fired and charges filed for simple battery that she will receive a summons for," according to a statement from local activists.
