COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO: Federal court in Colorado has sentenced a 23-year-old man to a record 20 years in prison for selling fentanyl pills. Nathaniel Corser pleaded guilty last August and admitted to selling two pills marked 'M' and '30' to Kaeden Norlander, according to court documents. The teen was found dead in his room the following day, July 5, after ingesting the two pills, which appeared to be prescription oxycodone pills. Investigation revealed they contained fentanyl, which led to the 19-year-old's immediate death. The drug deal took place at Cottonwood Creek Park in Colorado Springs.

"This is the longest sentence to date in federal court in Colorado for distribution of fentanyl resulting in death, and it should send a loud and clear message to drug dealers and drug traffickers. Our law enforcement partners will track you down and we will prosecute you if you peddle this poison in our communities," said Cole Finegan, United States Attorney in a statement. Before adding, "Lives are at stake, and we will use every available tool to combat this deadly epidemic and stop these tragic losses."

Also found were two blue tablets marked 'M' and '30' containing fentanyl, a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun, and a second loaded 9mm magazine. Officers arrested him at his home on July 15.
