EXO Baekhyun has announced the saddest news that EXO-Ls have NOT been wanting to hear. The ‘Candy’ crooner will be enlisting in the Military which will mean that along with Chanyeol, EXO fans will wait for Baekhyun’s Military enlistment to be over for a full-fledged EXO comeback. Baekhyun whose solo comeback album ‘Bambi’ will be releasing on March 30 explained that he wanted to create as much as he can before going to the military, so that EXO-Ls can cherish the music and other content even when he is gone.

Baekhyun has always known to be a straightforward K-pop artist who will communicate with fans with a direct message. The EXO vocalist turned on the Instagram live and shared, "Rather than just telling you, I thought 'would the EXO-Ls have to wait endlessly?' and there are some who were EXO-Ls for ten years or more, so I didn't want to tell you to wait without preparing anything. And I didn't want to tell you guys beforehand and make you feel restless."

When is Baekhyun enlisting in the military?

Baekhyun spoke briefly about the time that he has before military enlistment saying, “I wanted to tell you about it. I thought a lot about whether I should tell you at the start of March or just tell you later. The end of March is the final date at which I could push back my military enlistment. That’s why nothing has been scheduled for April."

He added with an assurance, “Even if I’m not here, we’ve filmed a lot of content in advance that will be released on YouTube and other places. It is possible people might be disappointed because I announced it so late, but I had just one intention. I didn’t want to make you feel like you had to prepare in advance. It’s not like we’re being separated forever. I wanted it to be like, ‘I’ll be right back.'”

Baekhyun upfront about his feelings gushed, “My heart feels heavy in sharing this. Even if I’m not here for a while, there’s a lot of things waiting for you so that you won’t feel the absence as much as possible, so let’s not start being sad now.”

Baekhyun fans have been having a hard time coming to terms that it is finally happening and they aren't ready. South Korean fans have turned to social media to ask, can't they send their brothers (again) to the military instead of Baekhyun? A fan shared a translated comment which read, "If it's Byun Baekhyun, he should be exempted from military service right? The country may not know but he has unified all South Korean females!" Another fan wondered, "Thinking about sending Baekhyun off to the military, we might not only see EXO members sending him off but his SuperM babies might be there as well. Just the thought of it makes me cry. I will miss him so much. Can't I just let my brothers enlist on his behalf??" A fan quipped, "I have a younger brother and an older brother. Can I turn them in instead?" HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHHAHAA OH MY GOD I HAVE TWO BROTHERS IN SK TOO SHOULD I VOLUNTEER THEN ON BEHALF OF BAEKHYUN????"

Plans for SuperM

Baekhyun has shared that as he is enlisting in the Military after March, so before that, he also had to make videos and other content for SuperM. The ‘Get You Alone’ crooner said in the Instagram live, “I am preparing everything from my solo album, SuperM album, and group album."

Tracing Baekhyun's solo success

EXO Baekhyun solidified his success not just with EXO and SuperM but with his solo albums too. His 2020 EP 'Delight' acquired sales of over 1 million copies, becoming the first album by a solo artist in South Korea to do so in 19 years which led to his title 'Genius Idol'. With the record-breaking success of 'Delight', fans are even more eager to get 'Bambi' to reach the same numbers if not more. The EP 'Bambi' will be released on March 30.
