LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A body language expert has suggested that Julia Wandelt, who thinks she’s Madeleine McCann, might be lying. Adrianne Carter referred to the Polish woman’s interview with Dr Phil, where she appeared to be "feeling stressed or fearful." Wandelt has been in the news for several weeks for her claims to be the missing British girl and she is now in the US after receiving death threats in her supposedly native nation, Poland.

She appeared on 'Dr Phil' on March 27 alongside a private investigator, Dr Fia Johansson, who is working with her to find out who she really is. Now, Carter told The Daily Star that Julia did not seem to be OK while on the show. She mentioned her apparent swallowing when the host took a look at her alleged Polish parents’ statement.

'A swallow is an unconscious gesture'

The expert, also famous as ‘The Face Whisperer’, shared, “We see Julia swallow when hearing the statement from her parents. A swallow is an unconscious gesture when we are stressed or fearful. In this context, Julia could be feeling stressed or fearful in case any evidence comes to light that proves she isn't Maddie.”

As per reports, Wandelt has given samples for DNA tests to determine if she’s actually Madeleine, who vanished while on a family vacation in Portugal in May 2007. During her appearance on 'Dr Phil', when the host mentioned her medical test, she reportedly took a deep "intake of breath," which Carter believes is also a sign of being not honest.

'This is a sign of feeling fearful'

She added, “When being asked about DNA results, we see Julia take an intake of breath. This is a sign of feeling fearful.” Carter further explained Wandelt's behavior saying, “I think she's fearful of the results of the DNA as it could prove her claims false.”

However, Dr Johansson does not think the same as on her Instagram page, she shared “I’m very happy for Julia getting a platform to courageously speak up, shedding light on her violent and abusive past and hopefully bringing her closer to justice!” In a previous post, she also took a stand for the young woman and added, “To everyone interested in Julia’s search for answers, please understand we are in the middle of an investigation. This is a vulnerable woman seeking answers about her identity and her life. Regardless of your opinions, she is a human being who deserves respect.”

'There is no need to spew hatred'

The self-proclaimed doctor of Psychology & Human Behavior stated, “When everything is done in the investigation in a few weeks, you can learn more, but more now, please respect this woman’s privacy. Her background was challenging and messy. There is no need to spew hatred, judgment, and especially threats towards a person in need. This is unacceptable and needs to stop.”

"My team is still mid investigation into Julia’s history and family background. Regardless of the negativity flying around out there, this is an innocent young woman who is searching for her identity," Dr Johansson added in an Instagram post.
