Where is Jon Jafari now? Why ex-Game Grumps host JonTron was dragged for 'racist' remarks amid Dan Avidan scandal
YouTuber, musician and 'Game Grumps' host Daniel Avidan has been accused of allegedly grooming his younger fans as per a Reddit thread posted by a user writing on the victim's behalf. The viral thread not only features a video of Avidan near a hot hub saying explicit things but also features a screenshot of texts shared between him and the victim that allegedly show Avidan saying, "If you feel comfortable with the idea, you should send me a little video saying that you'd like to f**k me in that tub," to the victim. This is not the first time a 'Game Grumps' host has been in hot water for serious allegations.
Avidan, a co-host for the Let's Play web series 'Game Grumps' with Egoraptor Arin Hanson, had only joined as a host after the previous host Jonathan Aryan Jafari had quit. Back on July 10, 2012, Jafari started the web series with Hanson with their highlight being the 2006 Sonic the Hedgehog game. On June 24, 2013, Jon had left the show as he wanted to return to his original show which was called the 'JonTronShow.' But, in 2017, Jafari was in hot water over comments on race and immigration in the United States, which sparked fury. Read on to learn more about him and what he is up to now.

The 'racist' remarks
Jonathan is known for reviewing video games and movies on 'JonTronShow.' As per reports, he had started Game Grumps with animator and voice-actor, Egoraptor, which saw them play games and tell stories. In 2017, Jafari whose Twitter handle is JonTron, sparked a huge controversy when he took to the social media channel to tweet in defense of Rep. Steve King’s \ statement that said, "We can’t restore our civilization with somebody else’s babies." This comment that was criticized as being supportive of White nationalism seemed to have worked just fine with Jafari who had tweeted, "Wow, how scandalous, Steve King doesn’t want his country invaded by people who have contempt for his culture and people! NAZI!!!”

Making things worse Jafari had also continued his point of view about immigration with streamer Steven Bonnell, in what was reportedly a two hour conversation. The YouTuber claimed that minority communities were "turning everyone against each other.” He added, "If they assimilated, they would enter the gene pool, eventually" when speaking about being open to immigration. In fact speaking of the conversation, Bonnel told TIME, "I was surprised by how extreme he took things. Seemed like if you gave him a shovel, he would keep digging and digging.”
Back then this caused outrage among his fans with one Reddit user writing, "Jon argued that the most well off black man is somehow more violent or more likely to be a criminal than the worst off whites and that’s the end for me. I’m all for separating art and politics but I can’t support him when he openly spouts Stormfront talking points". Another had added, "I’m angry that someone I fell in love with would turn out like this. JonTron was the first “Youtube Personality” that I started to follow, and one of the first channels that I subscribed to. I wouldn’t call him a nazi or some sort of scumbag. He’s no Richard Spencer. But he’s okay with a guy like Richard Spencer, and that’s not okay with me.” On March 19, 2017, Jafari posted a statement on YouTube to address these allegations as well. "I said lots of stuff that could be misconstrued in all sorts of ways. I was trying to speak to the increasing tribalization of our culture," he said.
But on May 18, 2017, NormalBoots announced that after the YouTuber's comments he would not play as an active member but would play as an honored founder of the group through a "mutual understanding." They made this announcement in a tweet that can be seen below.

Where is Jon Jafari now?
Since then, Jafari who married his long-time girlfriend Charlotte Claw on October 23, 2019, has continued to post videos on his YouTube Channel that sports 6.5 million subscribers. He has a lot of accomplishments under his belt - he was referred to in the 2011 indie game DLC Quest on a gravestone and was even featured as a character in Asagao Academy in 2016 before the racism controversy. He's also won two Youtube Creator Rewards - a Silver Creator Award in 2012 and a Gold Creator Award in 2014.
Jafari is also active on his Twitter and Instagram but it seems that fans are waiting for a comeback. Under his recent Instagram post, fans can be seen posting comments that read, "waiting for your return King," and "we miss you, when are you coming back?" His post 6 weeks ago also sees comments of fans asking him to post new content, but it doesn't seem like the YouTuber has responded to his fans considering his last YouTube video was uploaded 7 months ago. There are no locations on his Instagram post, but reports indicate that after he had moved to New York in 2013, he most likely lives there with his wife. As for now the YouTuber, although active on his social media channels has been sporadic in his posts.
Since Avidan's controversy has come to light, people have also taken to Twitter to drag Jafari again, while some others still want him to come back. The YouTuber took to Twitter to post a sarcastic comment about the allegations saying, "Does this mean we finally get to finish Sonic 06?" which resulted in many comments against his dark humor. "Jontron is still a piece of s*it to this day, huh?," said one user. Another added, "Jontron making jokes about dan getting outted as a groomer as if he hasn't been outted for racism, islamphobia, ableism, etc etc multiple times." If you don't understand the context of Jafari's tweet, like most users, this user explained ir perfectly, "JonTron left GG right before they could end their very popular Sonic 06 LP. It was joked for a while that he should come back just to finish that LP. Pretty bad taste given the reason Dan is in trouble, let alone the huge controversies Jon has been in himself."

Some though, decided to back up the YouTuber on his joke, with one adding, "Really telling where priorities lie for Twitter users where Dan Avidan of Game Grumps is in trouble for doing something highly unethically, and his adamant defenders are trying to deflect that on JonTron - whos only tweet about this current event is (justifiably) mocking them lol" Another added, "To the idiots who are crying about Jontron being "racist" or whatever else stupid accusation shit people on here want to throw at him, I am just letting you guys know it's just you crybabies on Twitter. Jon hasn't posted on YT for 7 months and the dude is still winning."
