Jon Voight praised Donald Trump in a 1.5-minute-long video message, branding him as the "historic president of this millennium" who would be "etched in stone with a gold medal."

The 81-year-old, who is one of the biggest supporters of the president, posted the video on his Twitter page with the caption, "A Message of Hope," and praised Trump for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

"We see President Trump as a magnificent soul, raising up this nation," he says during what appears to be a prayer. "For he loves his country, his neighbors thy people, Lord. He is a true patriot who has fought single-handed and knocked each poisoner down with his gifted tongue of truths and his true concern of everyone, every citizen."

"This is a man of great integrity, this is a man who held his head high, this is a man who took on evil and brought us to light."

The Academy Award-winning actor goes on to bring up how Trump is serving as a wartime president for the nation because of how he has to deal with the unprecedented situation of a global pandemic.

"This is a man, a president, who guided his nation and his people on a path to greatness," he insisted. "This man, President Trump, had to fight a war, a war that was bigger than anything our nation has witnessed in our lifetime, though he shielded us and protected us through it."

Voight ended his speech by declaring that Trump would be remembered fondly in history for the decisions he had made for the country to tackle the coronavirus.

"Yes, he will go down as the historic president of this millennium. He will be etched in stone with a gold medal, a hero, and a president of the United States who won the battle. The war of 2020. He is Donald Trump. God Bless," he says.

The actor had previously said that the president and Vice President Mike Pence were doing a "tremendous" job of handling the crisis.

"We are very fortunate to be in this country and be taken care of as we are. We have wonderful medical people around our Vice President, who are really doing a tremendous job," he had said.

"Now, the coronavirus will take its toll, whatever it is," he continued. "But it won't be the toll of the flu. Most of the people who get this coronavirus will get a minor response from it because the people who are at risk have certain lung problems or diabetes or different kinds of things; if they get it they're going to be in more danger."

"But anyway, we shouldn't go crazy. We should take precautions and do all the things that are recommended to us to do, and not be foolish. But we should also live our lives."
