MOUNT CLEMENS, MICHIGAN: Two brothers have been given life sentences after being found guilty by a jury in the 2013 twin murder. 47-year-old disabled mother Tina Geiger and her daughter Kristine Geiger were both brutally murdered, and will not be eligible for parole according to their prison sentences. The jury came to its decision around an hour, as they booked the pair on two counts each of premeditated first-degree murder and premeditated felony murder for the killings.

According to the investigation report, the victims’ bodies were recovered from a Clinton Township apartment in 2013. There were several stabbing marks on the victims’ bodies, whereas the autopsy found Tina was attacked 60 times, while Kristine was stabbed more than 20 times and was also sexually assaulted. The cold case had been reopened in 2019 by the authorities after new evidence was determined with the help of a bloody palm print and DNA on Kristine Geiger matched to Tony Johnson, which led to their arrest.

The authorities also found that blood found in the hallway was of Henry Johnson. Moreover, DNA taken from under the fingernails of Tina Geiger was established to be one or both of the Johnson brothers too, reports CBS News. Investigators believed that it was likely that both men followed the victims’ home from a nearby store before murdering them. Henry Johnson was also a resident at the apartment complex at the time of the killing back in 2013. Their bodies were recovered in their Clinton Township apartment

Rebeckka Mustaffa, Tina Geiger's sister, told the court on Thursday, December 15, that the double-killing of her sister and niece ended her family completely with no surviving member left. "They were just ripped from my heart from these two monsters who did the brutal crime," she said as reported by the Detroit Free Press.

She was shot at and hauled back to the house after the first time she tried to flee from an open door. The second time she attempted to leave, she was dragged back inside. The victim apparently experienced a medical emergency the third time. Nurses at Hurley Medical Center treated her and discovered that she had been abused, reported The US Sun.

In an unrelated case, a 36-year-old Michigan man allegedly sharpened his teeth into fangs and threatened to bite his victim. Michael Barajas was grooming, and had isolated her within a home, and sexually assaulted her for weeks. He is being held on a $245,000 bond and is accused of several offenses such as human trafficking, kidnapping, assault, first-degree criminal sexual conduct, and possession of methamphetamine. Barajas is scheduled to appear in court again on December 22, 2022, reports MEAWW.
