INDIAN SUMMER: Johnny Depp splurged $62K on feast after win against Amber Heard
Johnny Depp surely knows how to celebrate and he's a man who likes to live big. Be it surprising his fans as a guest at Jeff Beck's concert while he waits for the verdict, or him spending more than 60 grand on just ONE meal. Depp found his way to Birmingham, England, with his friends and opted for a luxurious meal that reportedly cost him more than $62,000 on Sunday, June 5. He recently won his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard where he was awarded $15 million in damages.
The 58-year-old actor indulged in a fancy feast of authentic Indian cuisine, cocktails, and rose Champagne at the Varanasi restaurant. He spotted his friend Jeff Beck, 77, and some other friends at 'Birmingham's largest Indian restaurant'. As per the Daily Mail, the group arrived at the fine dining around 7 pm after Depp joined Beck on his show in the city's Symphony Hall. The Indian restaurant, spread over 20,000 square feet, remained closed to the public so that Depp and his friends could eat in private. The group of friends partied until midnight.

Mohammed Hussain, Operations of Director of Varanasi said, "We had a call out of the blue on Sunday afternoon saying that Johnny Depp wanted to come to eat with a group of people. I was shocked, and at first, I thought it might have been a wind up [joke]. But then his security team arrived [and] checked out the restaurant, and we let them have the whole place because we were concerned that he might be bothered by other diners.
Johnny Depp & his fancy feast
Depp is a man with a large appetite, both food, and career-wise. Explaining the same, Hussain shared some deets about the meal that his chefs fixed for the actor which included paneer tikka masala, shish kebabs, chicken tikka, lamb karahi, and tandoori king prawns. Hussain continued, "[He] spent a lot of time speaking with the staff, our friends and family and was happy to pose for pictures with them. You would never have thought that he was such a big star. He had a lot of time for us all." Hussain further said, “money was no issue, and it was easily in five figures. We made more money from Depp’s visit than we did from our busiest night of the week, which is a Saturday when we have around 400 diners." It has, however, been revealed that Depp reportedly spent over $62,000 that night.
Hussain also shared when Depp took a break from everybody and joined him in his office for about 20 minutes and was keen on the CCTV camera. He continued, "It was just a nice conversation with a very humble man. I’m still pinching myself, because I never dreamt that Johnny Depp would be in my office having a chat about how the CCTV in the restaurant works. It was a real honor to have him here.” It looks like Depp is finally having some gala time in his life after being beat for nearly 6 years.
