Amidst all the newly resurfacing drama surrounding the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard domestic abuse scandal, Depp has now filed a petition on late Friday to quash a subpoena filed by his ex-wife, wherein she sought the Weinstein Company to turn over details on Depp's dealings with the defamed music producer, Harvey Weinstein.

Reportedly, Heard's subpoena attempts to seek discovery related to Depp’s ongoing $50 million defamation lawsuit against her. According to Depp’s Manhattan Supreme Court petition, the subpoena “is overbroad and seeks the production of documents that are not properly subject to discovery” in the Virginia defamation suit. Reports also claim the subpoena requests a number of documents, including all “communications between Mr. Depp and Harvey Weinstein.”

It has also been revealed that documents “concerning any act of violence committed by Mr. Depp during the production or promotion of ‘The Libertine,’” a 2004 Weinstein Company-produced flick starring the actor, have been requested by Heard's subpoena. This comes after Depp filed a defamation suit against Heard after the actress whom he was married to for just over a year, before splitting in May 2016, wrote a Washington Post op-ed about being a victim of severe domestic abuse at the ends of the acclaimed actor, fully detailing her experience with the same.

Though the letter does not mention the name of her abuser, nor take Depp's name clearly, the actor insisted it was strongly alluded to that he was the perpetrator of the said violence.

Following that, Heard responded by detailing the 'horrific' abuse' she allegedly suffered at Depp's hands, but newly resurfaced audio tapes of the two's confrontation at the time of their divorce reveal Depp was abused by Heard too. It was soon revealed that Heard had gone on to the extent of chopping the tip of Depp's finger off and even mocked him saying nobody would be likely to believe his story of domestic abuse on accounts of him being a white male - something that has social media torn and divided over whose side of the story to believe anymore.
