LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Keanu Reeves has already turned into a legendary figure with his 'John Wick' character, and now fans are calling an action scene from the franchise’s latest edition as the ‘best ever.’ Many thought the scenario was inspired by the game 'Hotline Miami', but the reality is a bit different. 'John Wick: Chapter 4's most talked about action sequence features a top-down view similar to the 2012 indie shooter. However, the filmmaker actually took it from ‘Hong Kong Massacre’ instead, which was itself based on the game as well as John Woo's movies.

Chad Stahelski, in an interview, told Slash Film, "I think it was called 'Hong Kong Massacre' — they did this top shot and we had been doing so much with the big muzzle flashes and it just kind of clicked. No one does top shots since looking at the floor and the top of characters’ heads isn’t that eye-catching." But what Stahelski calls an "etch a sketch" effect is where his team made it work using lighting and the gun flashes to recreate the video game's look. The game that inspired the action scene was out in 2019 and received mixed reviews, unlike the hugely successful 'Hotline Miami'. It is presently available on PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch, as per GameRant.

Touted as the ‘best ever,’ action scene, fans tweeted about the scene quite enthusiastically. “THE BEST. What was that gun he used?” asked one. "It's simple, it's the best fighting action film I've ever seen," wrote another. A user pointed out that the entire scene for the high stake shooting scenario was a single shot, "The Baba Freaking Yaga with Dragon's Breath! Continuous shot with zero breaks! 1 mistake by stunt men or Keanu and start all over! #Keanu #JohnWick." Enjoying the shootout scene from 'John Wick: Chapter 4', a fan said, "Loved this part. The music playing from past movies, the video game inspirations too. I see people say Hotline and what not, but John Wick Hex is also top down too, just only difference is it's a strategic game." Another fan shared, "Before I watched the movie I heard people talking about this scene and how good it was and I absolutely loved it actually seeing it."
