After Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's interview with Oprah Winfrey, an old video of John Oliver has resurfaced and gone viral. This video is of John Oliver on Stephen Colbert's late-night show is from 2018, back when Meghan and Harry had announced that they were all set to get married.

He had said that Meghan might not really like it in the royal family and his comments are what has the Internet impressed. Oliver told Colbert, "I would not blame [Meghan] if she pulled out of this at the last minute." He also referred to the popular Netflix show 'The Crown' and said, "I don't think you need to have just seen the pilot episode of The Crown to get a basic sense that she might be marrying into a family that could cause her some emotional complications."

He then explained, "They're an emotionally stunted group of fundamentally flawed people doing a very silly pseudo-job. That's what she's marrying into. So I hope she likes it. It's going to be weird for her. I would not marry into the royal family. I'm a commoner. I would not be welcomed — especially after what I've just said." These statements reflect the same sentiments that Harry had made during the interview with Oprah Winfrey.

One fan wrote, "I adore .@iamjohnoliver and I always have! Of course, he was prescient about Meghan Markle and Harry! He's a brilliant Brit, who lives in the US, so of course, he understands." Another Twitter user said, "I mean we all could've guessed it was going to be difficult for Meghan Markle if only because she is Black, let alone American, let alone an actress, but holy crap, John Oliver really did hit the nail on the head so pristinely that it's almost shivers-inducing."

One user wrote, "So @iamjohnoliver called out the #meganandharry situation in 2018! Perhaps #MeghanMarkle should have spoken to him before marrying into this weird family, where a suspected pedophile gets more protection than a pregnant mother in distress @CBSNews @Oprah."

However, a section of the Internet took offense to the comments that Oliver made and also tried to blame Meghan again by trolling her. One user wrote, "John Oliver is normally smarter than this. No way D lost actress who simulated sex scenes on tv was going to give up her one chance to be rich and famous. She’d even throw her own dad away #megxit #MeghanMarkle #cancelharry."

Another shared, "His comment wasn’t prescient Meghan markle is a serial plagiarizer and prob borrowed Oliver’s line. She claimed to have had miscarriage 7 months ago but now 6 months pregnant? Another strange pregnancy. #surrogate #megxit #royalbabtfraud."

One user wrote, "John Oliver was right... Meghan Markle is not and never will be worthy of royalty. Sure, he put it in different words, but its still a fact. Royals have a standard to uphold. Lady Di pushed those standards with class. Meghan just isn't cut out to be a Princess. Most aren't."

Meghan and Harry revealed how their financial support was cut off and so was the security resulting in their move to California where they initially received help from Tyler Perry.
