President-elect Joe Biden enjoys bike ride with Jill before meeting transition team as secret service trail them
President-elect Joe Biden and soon-to-be First Lady Jill Biden enjoyed a bike ride on Saturday, November 14, before meeting with the transition team in Delaware. The couple was spotted riding on a bike trail, wearing helmets, and covering their faces with masks.
Reporters stationed by the side of the road were greeted by the duo as they rode past them. While Jill waved and greeted them "morning", Biden, who is seen following her said, “Hi guys”. Even though Biden hasn’t been sworn in as the president, he’s already being treated like one. The couple was followed by four secret-service agents on bicycles, according to a report by TMZ. It further stated that several black cars were seen trailing the president-elect and his wife.
This isn’t the first time Biden was spotted enjoying a bike ride. In August, Twitter had witnessed a rather strange trend when Biden was captured on camera cycling. Soon, #TrumpCantRideABike surfaced on Twitter as more and more people wondered if Donald Trump can ride a bike like Biden, who was a Democratic presidential candidate at the time.
While Biden has been in good spirits since the election concluded last week, Trump continues to struggle to prove ballot fraud in many states. However, his statements from a press conference held on November 13 imply that he’s considering the chances of defeat as he said, “This administration will not be going to a lockdown.”
He added further, “Hopefully whatever happens in the future, who knows, which administration it will be I guess time will tell, but I can tell you this administration will not go to a lockdown.”
The Trump administration seems to have suffered a setback in three of six battleground states where they had filed lawsuits. The Trump campaign dropped the case in Maricopa County after realizing that Biden was leading with a large margin for the questionable ballots to work in the president’s favor.
While Trump supporters’ request to block ballot certification in Detroit was turned down by a judge in Michigan in Pennsylvania, the secretary of state declined to order a recount. Even though in conversation with Fox News’ Geraldo Rivera, Trump has reportedly stated that he would “surrender” if the election results are legitimate, he’s been seen criticizing mainstream media, especially Fox News for calling the election for Biden.
Rivera said, “He told me he was a realist, he told me he would do the right thing. If the process went against [Trump] and he was satisfied that every legitimate vote had been counted and every illegitimate vote had been thrown out … he would surrender.”
Meanwhile, Joe Biden isn’t paying heed to Trump’s tweet and is seen using his Twitter platform to keep his followers posted about the developments in his new position. He tweeted on November 14, “I am the president-elect, but will not be president until next year. Covid-19 does not respect dates on the calendar, it is accelerating right now. Urgent action is needed today, now, by the current administration.”
