Joe Biden looks relaxed as he spends time with son Hunter at downtown Wilmington before Inauguration Day
Joe Biden’s son Hunter was spotted spending time with his soon-to-be president father. The president-elect will take over the Oval Office on January 20 and with a few hours left to his inauguration, he was seen leaving the Queen Theatre in downtown Wilmington, Delaware, with his troubled son on Monday afternoon, January 18. Hunter was sporting a baseball cap with the presidential seal and his trademark cowboy boots.
As reported by The Daily Mail, before meeting Hunter, Biden was seen with his 39-year-old daughter, Ashley, and wife Jill, 69, at the Philabundance food bank in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to help fill food donation boxes in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The 78-year-old then came to Wilmington, Delaware, to have some time with Hunter, who was last seen with his father in November to celebrate his election victory. Reports have said that Biden will be accompanied by all of his family members on the day of the inauguration when he will be sworn in by Chief Justice John Roberts.
The time between Biden’s victory and the upcoming inauguration saw Donald Trump reportedly asking his then-attorney general Bill Barr to put in place a special counsel to probe Hunter as he was being accused of trading on his father's name. The 50-year-old is also under investigation by federal detectives. However, since Trump will soon be a former leader of the US, it has been said that his attempt to launch an investigation against Hunter won’t be successful. Also, reports said that after Biden comes into power, probe into Hunter’s business dealings in Ukraine and China will probably end.
Earlier, when Biden was successfully doing campaigns, Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani reportedly attempted to malign the image of him and the younger Biden by giving photos and emails from Hunter's laptop to the New York Post. The emails apparently had details that showed Hunter had been planning a Chinese deal which included, “10 [per cent] for the big guy,” which according to his would-be business partner was Biden. However, nothing has been proven yet. Besides, during an interview in December, the elder Biden said that his “son, my family will not be involved in any business, any enterprise, that is in conflict with or appears to be a conflict, with the appropriate distance from, the presidency and the government.”
Meanwhile, a report from December stated that Hunter’s “tax affairs” were under federal investigation. “I learned yesterday for the first time that the U.S. Attorney's Office in Delaware advised my legal counsel, also yesterday, that they are investigating my tax affairs. I take this matter very seriously but I am confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately, including with the benefit of professional tax advisors,” he said in a statement.
At the time, he became a trending topic on the internet with many welcoming the probe, while some pointed fingers at the Trump family. One such internet user said, “The Trump administration is investigating Hunter Biden's taxes. Great. Now it's fair play for the Biden administration to start investigating the taxes of Don Jr, Eric, Ivanka, and Jared.” Another added: “Of course they’re going after Hunter Biden again, investigating his taxes, when A golf Twitler actively hides his own taxes and Crimestress Ivanka, Trash Jr, Jared Kushner, stupid Eric all committed tax evasion and fraud which is why preemptive pardons will be gifted to them. Oh.”
