Late Alan Sidney Patrick Rickman, an English actor, and director rose to fame as he brought author J K Rowlings novel's character, Severus Snape to life in the Harry Potter series. Known to be the only man that could have done justice to the role, his death in 2016 devastated HP devotees worldwide.

In August 2015, Rickman suffered a stroke that led to a horrific diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. He succumbed to the illness at the age of 69, on January 14, 2016. J K Rowling recently remembered Rickman in an emotional tweet that had fans crying tears, posting stills and gifs of epic HP moments and pictures of when they met the actor in real life.

"In Harry Potter & the Cursed Child, Snape makes his first appearance with his back to the audience. At the dress rehearsal, I saw him in his long black wig & my eyes filled with tears because, for a split second, my irrational heart believed when Snape turned round, I'd see Alan," tweeted author J K Rowling, who brought the HP universe to life and the unending empire of magic that can never be forgotten.

Her tweet referred to the play titled ' Harry Potter & the Cursed Child' that has premiered in New York and other cities across the United States and the United Kingdom. In response to her Tweet, HP Twitterverse expressed their grief, remembering their favorite HP villain, and trust us, he's 100% forgiven for killing Dumbledore.

"I was very lucky to have met him and have this picture I'll treasure for the rest of my life. I miss him every day," tweeted a fan with a picture of her with the celebrity.

His voice was the topic of intense discussion and was acclaimed to be the perfect addition to magic's villain. It is said that his signature voice, was a result of a speech impediment he had as a child where he was not able to move his lower jaw in a proper manner.

"I was once in a restaurant one Saturday lunchtime. Alan Rickman and friends on one table and a family with a young boy on another. I could see both. When the boy heard THAT voice, the expression on his face was absolutely priceless. Magic," tweeted another fan, expressing the impact Snape had on many people - both young and old.

From his complex character, to how he managed to create a fan base in such a short span of time, Rickman's contribution to Severus Snape won't ever be forgotten. Rowling's tweet initiated a twitter response that had fans bring up moments of pure bliss as they were influenced by the man behind the famous words, "Always".

Rickman played Snape in all the eight adaptations of Harry Potter movies, with a complexity that shone excellence throughout. "I also have a pretty serious Harry Potter thing happening... but I try to to keep it mostly to #ProfessorSnape related artifacts. Two reasons.... the arc of the Snape story is my favorite and ..... #AlanRickman. Bonus photo of me and Mr Rickman," tweeted another fan.

Now may be the perfect time to binge-watch Harry Potter once again and with Rowling's tweet, we need some extra tissues.
