Jill Scott fans troll Kyle Queiro after he asks if anyone is sexually aroused by her: 'Fatphobia is real'
There is not much you can do to hide once you've made the Internet upset and American linebacker Kyle Queiro seems to have hit the wrong nerves with a few ignorant tweets.
On July 10, 2020, Queiro, who played professional football for the Dallas Cowboys and the Seattle Dragons, took to the social media channel to comment on Jill Scott's sexual attraction. Scott, who is a famous singer, songwriter, model, actress and poet, has an intense fan base and within no time they wanted Queiro canceled. Of course, Queiro has since then deleted the tweets, but fans weren't having it. "We are not standing for this s**t again yall, too many of them getting away with this! Cancel the motherf***er! #loveyouJillScott!!," tweeted a user.
You may be wondering if Queiro's tweets were actually un-called for, and many on Twitter have answered that question. "F**k wrong with this Queiro dude not needed man NOT NEEDED YOUR OPINION IS NOT NEEDED AINT NOBODY ASK!," tweeted a user.
Quiero's tweets included, "People are still attracted to JILL SCOTT?," "So it's an energy thing. Got it", and "& by no means is she ugly. But ya'll really sexually aroused by her huh?" Twitter had enough of this and screenshots of the footballer's tweets resulted in Scott trending. "Kyle Queiro got on Beyoncé’s internet & questioned how anyone could be attracted to Jill Scott. Like he can’t fathom that a plus-size woman can be physically attractive and sexy. Fatphobia is real," tweeted one user with the images of the "offensive" tweets. "Did you hear about Kyle Queiro disrespecting Jill Scott. Twitter is not having it and is dragging his ass real hard with an L," wrote another user.
Ironically enough, most of Twitter claimed to not know who Quiero was and was extremely upset at his "wild behavior". Many came to the singer's defense sharing her music and her achievements and dwelling on how they were lucky to have had grown up with an idol. "Who is that nobody with a blue check?" asked one user. Another fan wrote, "I hope Jill Scott see all this love she is getting because she deserves every single DROP. She FINE fine."
After having deleted the tweets, Quiero tweeted two more times about the incident. "I tried to explain my tweet after realizing how poorly it was worded and conveyed. I didn't grow up on Jill Scott so it was news to me that she was a sex symbol, and I just tweeted. Stupidly. It was best to just delete it & take my L," wrote the linebacker. "I've also seen people equating my tweet to both: fat shaming and a hatred of Black women. With how prevalent that is, I can understand why people may feel that way. But that is not the case here," he added. This is obviously a sensitive time for the Black community and Queiro deleting his tweets was just not enough, he also might have made it worse with "mansplaining". "Even if you didn’t know who she was! You saw a plus size black woman and made your statement! GTFOH ! Jill Scott!," wrote one user.
The replies to his "half-a**ed" apology were no better, as one fan wrote, "Who tf wouldn’t be attracted to a beautiful woman with a powerful voice and presence like Jill Scott has???" Another user asked Queiro, "How does you not knowing who Jill Scott is correlate to you questioning why and if people find her attractive? Is it because you assumed others wouldn’t know her as well and would bash her along with you (sic)."
