WASHINGTON, DC: First Lady Jill Biden has come under fire for flaunting the official White House Christmas decorations with a children's theme on Monday, November 27 — while babies and young ones in the continuing Israel-Palestine conflict continue to suffer.

Biden wrote in her post on Instagram, "For this year's holidays at the White House, our theme is inspired by how children experience this festive season: completely present in the beauty and bounty around them, their sense alight, with hearts open to the 'Magic Wonder, and Joy' of the season."

"We look forward to welcoming thousands of visitors to the White House - 'The People's House' - during the holidays. May the memories made this holiday season remind us all of the blessing that is our Nation."

White House holiday decoration: A look at the stats

The First Lady showcased the lavish decorations inside the White House, which included 142,000 glittering lights, over 34,000 ornaments, and 98 Christmas trees.

Moreover, the White House's north and south sides are adorned with 72 wreaths, sweets, and more than 22,100 bells along with more than 350 candles.

An official guide stated that there's also a gingerbread White House made of about 30 pounds of chocolate, 40 sheets of cookie dough, 40 sheets of gingerbread dough, 50 pounds of royal icing, and 90 pounds of pastillage.

The official White House Menorah is located in the Cross Hall, between the State Dining Room and the East Room, per the New York Post.

Alongside a sculpture of the First Cat, Willow, is a German shepherd statue that was removed from the White House earlier this year due to his tendency to bite.

The White House's interior and exterior are decorated over a week by more than 300 committed volunteers from across the nation.

Standing floor to ceiling in the Blue Room, the 18-and-a-half-foot tree originated in Fleetwood, North Carolina, approximately 80 miles northwest of Winston-Salem, as per The US Sun.

A significant portion of the interior design pays reference to Clement Clarke Moore's beloved poem 'The Night Before Christmas', which was first released in 1823, two centuries ago.

Netizens slam FLOTUS for Christmas decor amid ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict

The First Lady was criticized by several Internet users, who demanded an end to the conflict between Israel and Palestine.

One such user wrote in the Instagram comment section, "This is of course beautiful. But, if only this were reflective of how ALL children experience the season. It is difficult to appreciate this when we have funded 8,000 children’s deaths so far in Gaza. Ceasefire now."

A second one commented: "This is incredible time deaf considering the amount of children that have been killed in Gaza by US bombs. Ceasefire now. Please use any influence you have."

"All we want from Santa is a permanent cease fire and for the US to support peace talks," wrote another.

Another one seethed, "The White House focusing on decor during a genocide, this makes me uncomfortable"

One more unhappy Internet user questioned, "What is the difference between American children and Palestinian children? You seem to understand they all love the joy of the festivities just the same. Why welcome one in the white house with open arms and sponsor the bombings of the other?"

Another enraged user exclaimed, "Feels gross to celebrate opulence like this while enabling and ignoring a genocide. Definitely puts a damper on the ol’ Christmas spirit to care about American kids magic, wonder and joy (not saying that’s not great), while completely being complicit and apathetic to the deaths of over 7,000 Palestinian children."
