Jessica Tarlov expresses disappointment over Gen Z's Hamas support, calls it 'completely heart-wrenching'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News host Jessica Tarlov recently made an appearance on known TV personality Bill Maher's show, 'Real Time with Bill Maher', to discuss current political matters, including the varied social response to the Israel-Hamas war.
Tarlov expressed her disappointment in younger people, especially university students, who have been supposedly protesting in support of Hamas, the group responsible for the deaths of 1,400 Israelis in the attack initiated on October 7.
Jessica Tarlov appreciates political unity amongst older Democrats
Jessica Tarlov has been vocal about her disapproval of the support shown to Hamas, which has supposedly led to a hostile situation for Jewish communities in the country.
Talking about the George Washington University students who allegedly displayed pro-Hamas banners, Bill Maher said, "They just have this view that whoever is poorer and browner must be right and whoever is richer and whiter must be wrong. What are your thoughts on this horrible situation?"
Initially, the Fox News host replied, "I’ve been talking about it for two and a half weeks since it happened. It has been nice to have a moment of political unity," as per Mediaite.
Tarlov, who is known to lean towards a more moderate kind of Democrat then added, "At least I’m not a Gen-Z Democrat so, as an elder millennial, I sound more conservative these days, and it’s been hilarious."
She then said, "My Jewish liberal friends will text me and they’ll say, 'Oh, this is where you go in the afternoon?' because they never watched Fox before. And suddenly, I’m like, 'That’s why my hair and makeup always looks so good'."
Jessica Tarlov demands Palestinians educate others on the conflict as she slams those who are in support of Hamas
Jessica Tarlov then continued to demand from Palestinians like Democrat Representative Rashida Tlaib to educate others on the historical and social context of the war.
"But it’s completely heart-wrenching as a Jew and just as someone who believes in democracy and not committing genocide," said Tarlov.
She added, "And I don’t know why more Palestinians, and I said this about Rashida Tlaib, for instance, who obviously just has a completely separate agenda on this, doesn’t take the opportunity for an educational moment about the difference between the Palestinian people and a terrorist organization."
Israel has been leading a military operation against the Gaza Strip after the initial attacks by Hamas. Their consistent bombing and now a ground operation have reportedly caused the deaths of around 8,000 Palestinians.
Notably, Israel's defense forces have been criticized for taking civilian lives and have been accused of committing genocide, which didn't sit well with Bill Maher.
He responded to Tarlov, saying, "Genocide means you’re trying to kill the entire race of people. Israel has never- If they wanted to, they could. They’re not doing that. So this word genocide, it’s got to stop."
