'Jeopardy! National College Championship': Brandeis Uni student Joey Kornman enters semi-finals

The quarterfinals for 'Jeopardy! National College Championship' is on, and aired on February 9, 2022, on ABC. Who's excited? The show promised two weeks of intense competition and one like you’ve never seen before.

The contestants for the nerve-racking quiz show were Joey Kornman, a junior at Brandeis University; Mitch Macek, a sophomore at Villanova University and Yejun Kim, a senior at Northwestern University. Hosted by Mayim Bialik, this quarterfinal will have students compete to move up and become the 4th of 12 semifinalists. Who was the brainiest to win on this round? Keep reading to find out.

Joey won $16,400 for his right answer to "Who is Winston Churchill?", thereby making him a semi-finalist. Close behind is Mitch with $8,600, for his response to "Who is Nelson Mandela?". Yejun comes last with $6,000, for answering her question, "Who is Churchill?". As per results, Joey sailed smoothly to the semi-finals. Time for some fun facts in today's interview. Joey is a big fan of vexillology and his favorite flag is that of Antigua. Mitch has had a longstanding feud about iced tea with his roommate and Yejun first started watching Jeopardy! with her roommate. 

Andy Wood explained that in Jeopardy! math: to go from incorrect to correct, you need to double the value of the clue. This is the reason why Joey was refunded $4,000 after a $2,000 clue.
