'Ellen' finale: Jennifer Aniston quips about Brad Pitt divorce as DeGeneres reflects on 19-year run
19 years after being the very first guest on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show,' Jennifer Aniston returned to the talk show one last time for its final episode. The 53-year-old actress reflected on her career, her appearances on the chat show, her memories with DeGeneres, and her marriage to Brad Pitt.
Aniston joked, "I got a divorce and went into therapy. Oh, and then I did a movie called The Break-Up. I just kinda leaned into the end. I just was like, 'You know what guys, let's just make this a completely new chapter.'" DeGeneres responded saying, "Let's end everything," and the actress agreed, "Let's just end everything and then start new."

Ellen remarked, "It worked out!" after which Aniston replied, "It worked great!" The 'Friends' star divorced Pitt after five years of marriage in 2005. He met Angelina Jolie on the set of 'Mr. And Mrs. Smith' as the separation was looming, which led to rumors that Pitt cheated on Aniston with Jolie. Despite their divorce, Aniston insists that she is friends with Pitt. Their fans, however, have kept rooting for a reconciliation of the popular stars.
DeGeneres revealed that Aniston has been on the show 20 times during its 19-year run. The two reflected on the first episode that aired back in 2003, and the 64-year-old host asked, "What do you remember about-- because I remember vividly you being on the first. I don't remember a lot but I remember you being on the first show."

Aniston responded, "Well obviously what we wore. I remember I didn't have a stylist, I wore a pair of 7 jeans and a white... tank top... handing you that gosh dang welcome mat that's just never here. Oh, and there was your pink blouse. You had that golfer vibe going on. Gosh, that first show, we really kinda set the tone for some extraordinary television for the next 19 years."
"The conversation, I believe the conversation we had was so real, it did set up," said DeGeneres and then played a clip of them talking about toilet paper. "These are issues we need to discuss and talk about," joked Aniston. She talked about the gift she gave DeGeneres on the first episode of the show, a "Welcome" mat. During the last episode, Aniston gave the host another mat, which read, "Thanks For The Memories."

Aniston also insisted DeGeneres return to stand-up comedy now that the talk show is ending. She said, "Would love for you to get back into stand-up. I love your stand-up. I'd love to see your act again." DeGeneres seemed unconvinced but said, "Oh. Okay." Aniston pressed, "Well, I could give you a job. I'm definitely looking for people. My house needs a lot of odds and ends done," but the comedian introduced a commercial break at the point.
"See, this is what I'm worried about. In real life now, I can only talk now for five-minute chunks, and I'm going to say, 'Sorry, I have to take a break' and walk away," DeGeneres joked. "My first guest and my last [red heart emoji] #JenniferAniston," she tweeted with a promotional clip from the episode.
