Jenna and Barbara Bush hold dad George W. Bush's hands at Rangers game in heartwarming throwback photo
Jenna Bush Hager is reminiscing about an important part of her childhood. The 37-year-old 'Today' co-host shared a throwback photo of herself and Barbara Pierce Bush, her twin sister, holding their father and former President George W. Bush's hand as the family posed outside the Texas Rangers’ baseball stadium for a photo, People reports.
Jenna posted the snap just two days after the Rangers had their final game in their home stadium Globe Life Park, where they have played for nearly three decades, before preparing to move on to a new home in Globe Life Field.
Furthermore, the 73-year-old former POTUS is the former managing general partner of the Rangers and was instrumental in constructing the stadium. In 1994, he left his board position after being elected governor of Texas and later sold his stake in the team.
Jenna looked back on her time in the Arlington ballpark, saying she was lucky to have wonderful memories with her family and that she can now share those precious moments with her daughter Margaret "Mila" Laura.
“Although I’m back home, my heart is still in Texas,” Jenna captioned the photos. “I was surprised how emotional it was to take Mila to her first game (the last game in the stadium her Jefe helped build).”
“But then I saw this picture,” she said, referring to the throwback snap. “This was my childhood: my parents brought us to almost every game. Baseball meant family. It meant slow evenings under the stars, bubble gum and conversations about everything and nothing.”
“How lucky we were. How lucky I am,” she added.
The young mother of three shared a series of photos just a few days earlier from her family's recent visit to Globe Life Park, where Mila watched her first baseball game. “Sweetest first baseball game for Mila—last game in the stadium that for the last 26 years brought us so many memories,” she wrote.
Besides, Jenna also shared a gallery of images posing with Mila, her father with Mila on his lap, as well as another snap of herself with friend Lela Rose.
“I was Mila’s age when my dad first started working for the Rangers, taught me to keep score and under these Texas stars we met some dear friends,” Jenna added in the caption. The Bush sisters recently announced they were publishing a new children's book titled 'Sister's First' and were starting a book tour in the Northeast, in Illinois and their home state of Texas.
