SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH: Jen Shah was recently given a sentence of 78 months in federal prison and five years of closely monitored parole, which would include legal mental health care. The star of 'The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City' is reportedly choosing to stick by her own truth and 'crush' her critics with it in the face of all the legal difficulties.

On Tuesday, January 17, 2023, the 'RHOSLC' star turned to Instagram to share a cryptic post, most likely addressed at her haters. "There's something about a woman with a loud mind that sits in silence, smiling knowing she can crush you with the truth," the Instagram story read. The quote loosely translates to the fact that a woman may be hurt, angry, or upset by anything you say or do. Rather than venting, she chooses to keep her emotions hidden and withhold them from you. If she decides to remain silent, it might signify a variety of things; she either feels frustrated or misunderstood. Jen's post, while not specifically directed at anybody, might reflect how she has been torn down by those around her amidst prison sentencing.

The latest in the list of Jen Shah's critics was Savannah Chrisley who questions why the Bravo star received a lighter jail sentence than her parents Todd and Julie Chrisley for white-collar offenses. "Put the cases side by side, and it makes no sense — it just doesn’t," Savannah stated in the latest episode of her podcast 'Unlocked'. The 'Chrisley Knows Best' alum stressed that the 'Real Housewives of Salt Lake City' actress had 'victims' in her countrywide telemarketing scam that mostly targeted the elderly, whereas Todd and Julie were convicted of bank fraud and tax evasion.

Jen was sentenced on January 6, 2023, after pleading guilty to wire fraud in July 2022. Meanwhile, the Chrisleys were sentenced to a total of 19 years in jail after being found guilty of conspiracy to conduct bank fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States, and tax evasion.

Jen received a 78-month jail term after pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to conduct wire fraud. According to federal authorities, Jen was the mastermind behind a "national telemarketing fraud scheme" that harmed thousands of victims.

According to a judgment filed last week in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, she has been ordered to report to the Federal Bureau of Prisons on February 17. Jen will be discharged after five years of supervised release, which will entail mental health therapy approved by the United States Probation Office.

Jen has previously stated that she was depressed and on antidepressant medication during episodes of 'The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City' Jen disclosed to her castmates on a recent episode that she attempted suicide after being charged in the federal case. Jen said that she had locked herself in a bathroom and that her husband had broken the door down. She stated that she was in the hospital for more than two days.

Jen asked for leniency in a court statement submitted in December, citing "some personal painful experiences that I was going through in my life," including the deaths of her father and grandmother.
