A close friend of Jeffrey Epstein, Jean-Luc Brunel, has reportedly died. The former modeling agency manager, accused of child rape and sexual harassment, was reportedly found dead in prison. It has been said that he was discovered hanged to death inside his jail cell on Friday night, February 18.

As per reports, a probe has been launched to find the cause of his death. Brunel, also accused of abusing Andrew’s accuser Virginia Roberts, had been behind bars since December 2020 after being detained at an airport in Paris following allegations of rape, sexual assault of minors, and human trafficking. He was believed to have played a vital role in Epstein’s and his madam Ghislaine Maxwell’s sex trafficking ring.

A September 2021 report by The Sun quoting an investigating source in Paris said that Brunel was charged with the “aggravated rape of a young foreign model” in June. The source added that the assaults were “allegedly committed in the late 1990s, when she was only 17 years old.” The name of the said model was not revealed but it was said that the 76-year-old man had raped her at her Paris home after a night out at a nightclub. The accuser had also said that her drink was spiked with a drug.

At the time, like Andrew, Brunel also refuted all allegations while his lawyers alleged he was subjected “to a media lynching.” The attorneys Marianne Abgrall and Mathias Chichportich had said in a statement: “Our client has always firmly asserted that he has never abused any woman. This accusation, which arises almost twenty years later and without the slightest proof, is a new illustration of the media-judicial lynching suffered by Jean-Luc Brunel since the suicide of Jeffrey Epstein.”

Brunel’s sudden death has attracted a lot of attention online. A user tweeted, “Sounds like they got Clintoned.” The second one asked, “Did any of the prison guards buy a brand new mansion and few supercars in last 1-2 months?” The third user said, “What makes no sense is why didn’t they get the information out of this man before this happened. Like they didn’t expect this? Dude was just sleeping in a cell waiting to get murked. Makes no sense.”

A person remarked, “They always end up dead. Just like McAfee. Everyone knows why.” Another person stated, “Lemme guess, the guards just happened to be busy playing Scrabble to look at the monitor?”
