Jeffrey Dahmer victim's cousin says family is 'retraumatized' as Netflix failed to notify them about series
MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN: Netflix’s new series on serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer has raised quite a few eyebrows for tagging the series as LGBT. And, if this was not enough, the family of Jeffrey Dahmer's 11th murder victim Errol Lindsey is pissed over the re-enactment of the emotional courtroom drama.
Errol Lindsey’s cousin Eric Thulhu took to Twitter to speak against Netflix’s new series Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story’ saying his family was traumatized again after a scene of another cousin of his named Rita Isbell was shown in the series. Rita Isbell, who was the sister of 19-year-old Errol Lindsey, had screamed at a passive Dahmer in the courtroom in 1992, calling him “satan” and saying she wanted to kill him, as reported by The Daily Mail. Errol Lindsey was reportedly lured to Dahmer's apartment to pose for nude photos, only to be butchered by the infamous serial killer.

‘It’s retraumatizing over and over again’
Eric Thulhu in his Twitter thread stated, “I’m not telling anyone what to watch, I know true crime media is huge rn, but if you’re actually curious about the victims, my family (the Isbells) are pissed about this show. It’s retraumatizing over and over again, and for what? How many movies/shows/documentaries do we need?”
He further stated, “Like recreating my cousin having an emotional breakdown in court in the face of the man who tortured and murdered her brother is WILD. WIIIIIILD.” Taking to another post, the 33-year-old shared, “Ok, I did not expect that tweet to get this much attention. To answer the main question, no, they don’t notify families when they do this. It’s all public record, so they don’t have to notify (or pay!) anyone. My family found out when everyone else did.”
In the same thread, he added, “So when they say they’re doing this “with respect to the victims” or “honoring the dignity of the families”, no one contacts them. My cousins wake up every few months at this point with a bunch of calls and messages and they know there’s another Dahmer show. It’s cruel.” Dahmer in 1992 was convicted of 16 murders he'd been charged with, and sentenced to 16 life sentences in prison.

‘I could kill you’
Speaking of Rita Isbell’s courtroom appearance against Dahmer, she in her opening statement revealed that she was the elder sister of Lindsey. ”I'm mad. This is how you out act when you're out of control. I don't want to ever have to see my mother go through this again. Never, Jeffrey”, says Rita in the courtroom. She then began to scream at the top of her lungs in rage as she flung her body around while at the stand in 1992: 'Jeffrey, motherf**er, I hate you. This is out of control.”
Losing her temper, Rita storms at Dahmer shouting, “I could kill you, I could f**king kill you.” For the unversed, Lindsey was drugged by Dahmer and he began to drill a hole in his skull, before pouring acid into the opening. Lindsey woke up during the gruesome torture, prompting Dahmer to strangle him.
Dashawn 'Dash' Barnes, the actress who plays Rita in the series took to Instagram to promote the new Netflix show saying, “I didn’t know the victim’s stories, and could only imagine the impact of his actions on the family and community. I feel it really important to tell these parts of the story and I hope everyone watching it has empathy for the victims and everyone affected.”
