Jean Innocent: Florida man, 41, claims Voodoo made him rape and impregnate 13-yr-old family member

WEST PALM BACH FLORIDA: A 41-year-old man was arrested and charged after reportedly raping and impregnating a 13-year-old member of his family and then telling detectives that the sexual encounters were caused by Voodoo. According to court documents, Jean Innocent was arrested recently and charged with two counts of sexual violence with a child, one count of incest and one count of impregnating a child.
The 13-year-old survivor, whose name has been removed from the affidavit to protect her identity as a minor, was sent to St Mary's Hospital on December 19 with abdominal pain, according to a probable cause affidavit acquired by Law&Crime. According to the child, she "had sexual intercourse" with Innocent "approximately four times since she had abdominal surgery in July 2020," investigators reportedly said.

Two instances of sexual abuse
According to the survivor, the first instance of "penile vaginal sexual abuse" happened in the summer of 2022. In November, according to her, there was a second incident of sexual abuse. "The victim stated [redacted] was at work when [Innocent] entered her bedroom and told her 'Give me 10-minutes,'" the affidavit reads. "[Innocent] pulled down her bottoms exposing her bare body and he pulled down his pants. The victim climbed on top of her and inserted 'his PP inside of her PP.' The victim said 'no' and was refusing and crying. The victim stated that [Innocent] stopped and said ‘never mind’ because she was crying. He then left the room," as reported by Law&Crime.
One-party consent-controlled call from survivor
According to the statement, the survivor reportedly informed police that the encounter left her "feel weird" and that it ached. According to the affidavit, investigators arranged a recorded, one-party consent-controlled call from the survivor to the defendant. The survivor allegedly informed Innocent that she had lately been throwing up during the call and that the hospital was about to do a pregnancy test on her. "[Innocent] told her to say no and began making up a story to tell about a relationship with a boy named 'Semen,'" the affidavit says. "He told the victim if she tells he will go to jail. [Innocent] told the victim she was not pregnant because her period was not due for another week. The victim asked, 'did you do it inside of me?' [Innocent] replied, ‘Yes, I think I do it,'" the affidavit added. The defendant allegedly went on to say that he thought his "pre-ejaculation" could have been the reason for the pregnancy.
'Voodoo caused him to have sexual intercourse'
On December 19, investigators arrested Innocent and questioned him. Investigators reportedly said that Innocent said, "He believes Voodoo caused him to have sexual intercourse with [the victim]." He further asserted that he only recalled engaging in penile vaginal sex with the victim twice, the first instance taking place roughly three months before his arrest. "He stated that they were inside of his bedroom on his bed,” as per the affidavit. "[Innocent] described telling [the victim] he needed '5 minutes.' He then inserted his penis into her vagina. He stated that it was only for a few seconds and then he stopped and left the room."
Innocent is now being held without bond.
The second incidence of sexual abuse, according to Innocent, also occurred in his bedroom. He allegedly entered at that point and asked her for "10 minutes." "He stated that he told [the victim], 'This is the last time I’m going to ask,'" the affidavit says. "He said that [the victim] had tears coming from her eyes and she said OK. He then climbed on top of her and had penile vaginal intercourse with her." The survivor's and Innocent's relationship was kept secret. According to jail records, he is now being held without bond.
