Jane Fonda reveals she and Michael Jackson went skinny-dipping, says he lived with her for a week
Not many might know, but Jane Fonda was quite tight with the King of Pop. Spilling the beans on 'Watch What Happens Live', Fonda recalled the 'Smooth Criminal' living with her for a week, back in the '80s when she was making 'Golden Pond' in New Hampshire. “He slept on a mattress that he pulled out on the floor of the living room,” the 'Book Club' actress reminisced to host Andy Cohen on Thursday, September 17. “I slept in the loft upstairs." Speaking of Jackson, the Academy Award-winning 'Barbarella' actress said he was “very touching” and a “very interesting character” when they used to be friends.
“I knew him pretty well. I went to his house a lot. He came over to my house a lot,” Fonda recalled, also revealing that this was around the same time the popstar had released 'Bad' in 1987. “I skinny-dipped with him, how about that? Put that in your pipe and smoke it," quipped the actress. When a fan on the show asked Fonda about a photo of her with the 'Thriller' hitmaker in Studio 54, she admitted she wasn't a fan of the party life. “I didn’t like those scenes too much,” she said of the infamous club. “I only went twice, and I didn’t like it.”
This isn't the first time this month that Fonda has spilled on famous celebrities and her bond with them. Earlier in September, Fonda called famous musician Marvin Gaye 'a great regret' sexually during an interview with The New York Times. The 'Monster in Law' actress shared the 'Let’s Get It On' singer wanted to sleep with her, but because she was married to Tom Hayden at the time, she didn't. “I was meeting a lot of performers to try to do concerts for Tom and the woman who was helping me do that introduced me to Marvin Gaye,” she recalled. Incidentally enough, Gaye's pick up line didn't have any kind of 'sexual' healing in its approach. “I needed some but he didn’t say that, no,” Fonda said, also adding that after his death, she learned that the singer had her picture on his refrigerator.
Fonda, with an illustrious career spanning across the screen and avid activism, swore off sex after hitting 80. Earlier this month, she also told actress Drew Barrymore that she is all for her indulging in an “affair or two” whenever she’s ready to get back in the zone. “I’m not closed for business,” Barrymore told Fonda in the same September episode of 'The Drew Barrymore Show'. The 'Charlies Angels' actress who filed for divorce from Will Kopelman in 2016, told Fonda: “But I have been exactly in that mentality for the past five years, thinking I just don’t have the bandwidth, I don’t know if I’m willing to open [up,] I just can’t fit it in.”
As for Fonda, she is sticking to her plans of staying single. “I’m too old, so it’s very easy to swear off getting undressed… even in candlelight,” Fonda said. “Eek!”
