James Corden's posh accent in 'Saturday Night Takeaway' baffles fans, viewers call it 'buffonery'
James Corden, English actor, comedian and acclaimed television host, has a wide set of fans thanks to his hilarious CBS talk show, 'The Late Late Show with James Corden.' While he appeared on 'Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway ' from the coziness of his LA home, the host, 41, shocked and confused fans with the way he spoke.
The hosts, Duo Ant, 44, and Dec, 44, reflected on some of their past best experiences over the years. And Corden made the appearance on the show as the presenter reran the prank they had played on him in 2016. Bringing back one of their iconic moments, when they hijacked Corden's 'Late Late Show' in the US.
Speaking of the prank, Corden said, "The first thing I can't believe it was 2016 - time has sped up! I remember thinking they've got me proper in a way I never thought you could. It's going to be wonderful to get you both back - that's what I'm thinking," talking about the prank. Gordon also spoke about the COVID-19 lockdown situation: "The same for all of us, isn't it? There are no days anymore. You're awake and then you're asleep."

While you would think that the prank would be the main discussion on social media, Corden instead shocked fans with a peculiar change in his accent. Of course, Twitter did not hold back. "Why is James Corden speaking so posh on Saturday night takeaway," tweeted a user.
"@ellimaexo did you see @JKCorden fake posh accent on Sat night take away? This is the buffonery I was on about," tweeted another user.
Some users compared Corden, to Smithy, his on-screen character, that spoke in a 'posh' accent to impress his girlfriend, Sonia, during the Gavin and Stacey Christmas Special. "Why does @JKCorden’s natural voice sound like Smithy when he was talking all posh-like to impress Sonia? #SaturdayNightTakeaway," asked a user.
