Ja Morant paid $50K in cash tips at Shotgun Willie's before flashing gun on livestream, reveals insider
GLENDALE, COLORADO: According to a report, Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant spent $50,000 and drooled after a stripper gave him a lap dance at the same strip club where he flashed a gun two days later. The NBA starlet has been making news lately for all the bad reasons, and his latest scandal resulted in a ban for filming himself on Instagram Live on March 4 holding a gun in a Colorado strip club.
Now, many reports reveal that the 23-year-old also went to the risqué Shotgun Willie's in Glendale, Colorado, just 48 hours earlier, and spent a lot of money there during the two-day binge. According to New York Post, the bad-boy baller was caught ogling a G-string-clad brunette stripper's backside. The NBA star allegedly spent $50,000 in cash tips over the course of his two-day party, covering the entire private VIP room he had rented in cash.

"The whole room is full of money — it’s literally a pile. You’d need a rake," according to one club member who saw the breathtaking hardwood scene. The renowned 23-year-old point guard, who re-signed with the Grizzlies last year in a 5-year extension deal worth up to $231 million, paid at least $50,000 in cash tips over the course of the two-night booty binge, according to two workers, reports New York Post. "That took forever to count," a dancer recounted her colleague claiming.
'He wanted some girls in the room'
The club insider claimed that Morant appeared at Shotgun Willie's around 1.30 am with a friend and two security personnel just moments after the Grizzlies trampled the Rockets in Houston, 113-99. The Memphis superstar entered the VIP room eighty minutes after the team's aircraft landed in Denver and paid at least $900 to reserve the space for three hours, according to prices listed on the club's website, per sources. "He was there to party, he wanted some girls in the room," the insider stated. "The music was very, very gangster."
'He paid for four dancers'
Morant appears to have amused himself thoroughly while at the strip club. As per reports, he paid for four dancers as well as a feast that included "a basket of hickory-smoked wings, two plates of chicken strips and fries, and a steak." "That’s a little excessive, but usually excessiveness is happening all the time," the insider joked.
What did Deborah Dunafon say?
He allegedly returned to the club after the Grizzlies' humiliating 113-97 loss to the Nuggets. After scoring 23 points in the defeat, Morant made a beeline for Shotgun Willie's in the wee hours of March 4, where he made the now-famous video of himself posing topless while holding a gun in front of the camera while humming the lyrics to 'Bring 'Em Out' by the rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again. Shotgun Willie's majority owner Deborah Dunafon, 72, said that Morant had been "respectful" and "marvelous". "This kid, real young, was exceptionally respectful, and sweet and he did not drink [on his second visit]," Dunafon stated. "We've had [Denver] Nuggets and Broncos … come in and pitch quarters at the girls, be disrespectful and nasty. He's marvelous," as cited by Daily Mail.
One dancer, who claimed not to have been in the backroom but who heard about it from other dancers, claimed that the women in the private room were "absolutely terrified" by the gun. Morant, according to her, "pulled the white boy excuse card" by saying he was "going through a lot," she claimed. After reviewing the surveillance footage of the incident with the police, Dunafon asserted that "nobody saw a gun."
Did the police charge Ja Morant?
Glendale Police looked into the event and questioned Morant, but no charges were brought against him. Even though the authorities have not filed any charges against Morant, the NBA may still take further action. After the footage was made public, the Grizzlies suspended Morant for two games. He subsequently disclosed that he would be "taking some time away" from the squad.
'He should sue the club!'
As soon as the strip club published its photos, they went viral on Twitter and received an immediate response from the internet. A user tweeted, "You’d think releasing videos of your customers would hurt your bottom line, no? Lol" Another user shared a GIF and wrote, "Throwing money and getting a lap dance at a strip club…. Another said, "I mean what is the strip club for nothing to c here - wack as fuck for the club to release this." "He should sue the club! Wtf," noted one user while another one said, "THATS GOTTA BE A SUPERMAX CONTRACT ON THE FLOOR."
