Today, as President Joe Biden was inaugurated alongside his Vice President Kamala Harris, many Americans hoped that the worst was over with Donald Trump out of office. Biden, who already signed 15 executive orders, reversing some of the key foreign policies and national security decisions of Trump, is already welcomed by the citizens. And it is evident in the way that the American citizens responded to the Trump family's final messages on social media.

When Melania Trump, Ivanka, Eric and Donald Trump Jr shared farewell messages on social media and from the White House, they received their fair amnt of flak.

(L-R) Donald Trump and his children Eric Trump, Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr. attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for Trump SoHo New York at Trump SoHo on April 9, 2010 in New York City.

Ivanka Trump, advisor to the former President, took to Instagram and Twitter to share a long written message thanking the people of America. "I came to Washington to fight for American families and I leave feeling I've done that," she wrote, adding, "The last four years have been an incredible journey. Thank you for all of the love and support you have shown me. I leave D.C. in awe of the compassion, grace and grit that exists across the nation."

But the Internet was quick to debunk her sugar-coated claims. ""Dear Diary, it has been an honor to be the recipient of the world's longest bring-your-daughter-to-work-day. It was fun riding the planes, "governmenting" whatever that is, and helping dad release his Trump Care health plan (which killed 400,000)," one added. "Bye, Irrelevanka," another put it rather abruptly. "Can you even imagine losing 400,000 fellow Americans to the mishandling of a pandemic and still thinking you’ve accomplished something? Read the room," another finally said.

In another post, Eric Trump shared multiple images from the last few years, including a snap of him with his family outside a US helicopter, with his father in the Oval Office, and delivering a speech at a rally. He captioned the post, "It has certainly been a beautiful journey..." he wrote on Twitter.

The internet wasn't kind here either. "Print the pictures so you can take them to prison," one replied to him. "Let's talk about reality how about that!!!? Over 400,000 dead and all your dad had to do was give two Fucking shits about someone else for once!!!!" another tweeted.

Donald Trump Jr took to Instagram to share a picture of his father hugging the American flag with the caption, "Thanks dad! America owes you a debt of gratitude."

Even Don Jr wasn't without criticism on this post. "We don’t owe him anything....as a president, it should be his best interest to do what’s best for the American people.... why do we owe him?? Genuinely confused," one commented below the picture. "It's the other way around. Shouldve never been in there," another wrote. "BYEEE TRUMMMP" one simply concluded.

The White House posted a farewell video message from the president on Tuesday. "To serve as your president has been an honor beyond description," he said in a video lasting nearly 20 minutes. "Thank you for this extraordinary privilege. I took on the tough battles, the hardest fights, the most difficult choices, because that's what you elected me to do."

"The movement that we started is only just beginning," he said, adding: "There's never been anything like it. The belief that a nation must serve its citizens will not dwindle."
