Ivanka jealously guarded her position as Trump's favorite, sabotaged Tiffany's modeling dreams: Cohen's book

Ivanka feared that Tiffany would try to explore a role in their father’s life that she felt belonged exclusively to her, said Cohen

In his new book, 'Disloyal: A Memoir,' Michael Cohen, Trump’s former personal attorney, revealed that Ivanka Trump has always jealously defended her position as the favorite child of President Donald Trump, to the extent where she deliberately helped sabotage her younger sister Tiffany Trump's modeling aspirations.

Although Ivanka, who currently serves as her father's senior adviser, talks about women empowerment as something that she champions, Cohen claims that her advocacy did not extend to include her own stepsister as she feared that Tiffany would try to explore a role in their father’s life that Ivanka felt belonged exclusively to her.

And it wasn't like Tiffany was welcomed by other members of the Trump family anyway. The 26-year-old fresh law school graduate had always been referred to in the first family as the “red-haired stepchild,” Cohen revealed, which was one of the many ways she was disparaged and treated differently than her siblings. And in displaying 'casual cruelty' toward Tiffany, Ivanka also joined in as she “jealously guarded her position as Trump’s favorite and surrogate, even at the expense of her vulnerable younger sister.”

Cohen recalled an instance when both he and Ivanka were present with Trump when the president mused at fact that Tiffany, after graduating from college, had asked him to call Anna Wintour, the editorial director of Condé Nast, to arrange an internship at Vogue magazine. The president pondered over whether to show his support for Tiffany’s idea of pursuing a career in fashion. “I don’t think Tiffany has the look,” Trump said to Cohen and Ivanka who had worked as a model in her teenage years. “She just doesn’t have what you have, honey.”

“I agree, Daddy,” said Ivanka, agreeing with Trump, Cohen wrote. “She just doesn’t have the look is the right way to say it, Daddy.''

Cohen added that his daughter, Samantha, was “amazed and appalled” at how Trump treated the only daughter he shared with his second wife, Marla Maples. Samantha and Tiffany both were students at the University of Pennsylvania and had eventually become close friends despite not liking the Trumps because of “their incessant competitiveness and egomania,” Cohen wrote.

The former Trump lawyer said while the president loved for Ivanka to take meetings with older male business associates as he figured the men would be susceptible to Ivanka’s “charms" he didn't think so highly of Tiffany who was 12 years younger than Ivanka. “The beauty myth cut both ways in the Trump family,” Cohen wrote.

Cohen said he also felt bad for Trump's younger daughter. “I also really felt for Tiffany and the way she was treated,” he wrote. “The pecking order of the kids was painfully apparent. Trump was very specific about his views on the importance of female beauty in measuring the value of women, including inside his own family.”

In recent weeks, the bitter relationship between Trump and Tiffany came to light when Madeleine Westerhout, a loyal former White House aide to President Trump, opened up in her new memoir about being let go from the administration last year after she revealed too many details about the president's feelings about Tiffany during an off-the-record, “wine-filled” dinner with reporters.

A drunk Westerhout said Trump thought his younger daughter was overweight and didn’t like being photographed with her. She said that she had apologized to both Trump and Tiffany.
