Is Casey DeSantis OK? 100-yr-old oak tree crashes into governor's mansion during Hurricane Idalia
TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA: First lady of Florida, Casey DeSantis, has shared on social media that she and her children were not hurt after an oak tree collapsed onto their home.
Taking to Twitter as well as Instagram, Casey, wrote, “100 year old oak tree falls on the Governor’s Mansion in Tallahassee — Mason, Madison, Mamie and I were home at the time, but thankfully no one was injured.”
“Our prayers are with everyone impacted by the storm,” she added with an Instagram user commenting, “I’m always sad when an old tree falls. Thankful everyone is alright.”

“Sending so much love to your family. As always, your husband and Our Governor are doing such an amazing job taking care of the great state of Florida during a really devastating time,” another user stated.
The third one added, “So glad you’re ok! Sad to lose such a majestic tree.”
Governor Ron DeSantis assures his family is fine
The governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, also claimed that his family did not get hurt because of the tree.
While updating media about Hurricane Idalia which hit Flordia as a Category 3, the politician said, “We’re fine.” People reports.
He continued, “In fact, [Casey] called me probably about 45 minutes ago and told me, says, 'I guess, there’s a really ancient oak tree split in half, and part of it fell.’”
The 44-year-old presidential candidate also went on to share that “I don’t know that it fell on like the residence, per se. I think it was a little bit off to the side, so that’s gonna be cleared.”
“If they do cut down the whole tree that's just going to be more room for my kids to hit baseballs,” Ron added.
Hurricane Idalia could affect Georgia and South Carolina as Joe Biden calls for action
As per FEMA administrator Deanne Criswell, “The federal government pre-positioned personnel and resources to immediately support response and recovery efforts for Hurricane Idalia.”
“This Administration will continue to work closely with first responders and local officials as the storm progresses,” she noted.

Besides, a statement issued by the White House read, “Today, President Biden called Governor DeSantis of Florida, Governor Kemp of Georgia, Governor McMaster of South Carolina, and Governor Cooper of North Carolina.”
“He told each of the Governors that they and their states have his administration's full support,” the statement added.
