Lifetime's flick 'An Amish Sin' revolves around the life of the Amish community. It mainly spins around the lifestyle of women specifically and the challenges they get to face while living in a male-oriented society. The official synopsis released by the platform states, "Inspired by true stories, Amish Sin follows Rachel, an Amish teen who refuses to obey her parent’s command that she marry the man who abused her as a child. When she attempts to run away, she is caught and sent to a “rehab” for Amish girls who don’t follow the rules. Managing to escape from the facility, she makes her way to a neighboring city where she has to learn to live–and find her place–in our world". Helmed by Michael Nankin, the movie stars Kellie Martin and Dylan Ratzlaff.

Lifetime's flick 'An Amish Sin' is based on a true life story. According to Futon Critic, it does not comprise a single woman's narrative, instead covers the anecdote of several Amish women. After the premiere of 'An Amish Sin', Lifetime will release 'Behind The Headlines: An Amish Sin'. This is a documentary that will be one hour long. It will feature the real women who left their Amish homes due to the life-threatening challenges they had to face in the community. These women will be seen telling their stories about how they survived after leaving their homes and how other societies accepted them. In addition to the real-life stories, the documentary will feature an expert point of view on the role of women in the Amish community, both in the past and present.



 

'An Amish Sin' is scheduled to release on Saturday, October 29 at 8/7c on Lifetime. Immediately after 'An Amish Sin' the platform will release 'Behind The Headlines: An Amish Sin'.
