Apfel's Fashion life
Iris celebrated her 101 and a half birthday in March 2023. She shared her picture on Instagram with the caption, "When you get up in years, even half birthdays deserve some cheers." Apfel's trademark outfit, round glasses with costume jewelry and printed garments, made her a recognizable figure in the fashion world. Her look became a favorite for Halloween costumes and dress-up parties. Her style tips were blasted across the blogosphere. In 2018, Mattel made a Barbie doll version of Apfel, the brand's highest possible honor.
In 2019, she subsequently committed to a modeling deal with IMG, with Tommy Hilfiger's assistance. Since then, Apfel has participated in a lot of advertising campaigns and brand alliances. She collaborated with Zenni Optical to develop the Iris Apfel Zentennial Collection last year, five days before her 100th birthday. Apfel's own accessory ethos is reflected in the five various eyeglass frames that make up the capsule collection. It all includes hypnotic color palettes in muted teals, beiges, and russet red. Full of monkeys, bugs, and abstract patterns, the new Iris Apfel x Ruggable collection only builds on the brand’s charm. The new Ruggable collection is priced between $129 and $799. They range in size from 2x3 to 9x12. A few Apfel designs are also available as doormats.
