WASHINGTON, DC: Prior to the Thanksgiving holidays, Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene announced that she would reintroduce her resolution to impeach Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas after her first failed attempt.

Most recently, Greene took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share an article by the Washington Examiner, titled, “Voters back Marjorie Taylor Greene's impeachment of Mayorkas.”

Expanding on her stance regarding the mentioned resolution, the congresswoman asserted, "The American people expect us to fulfill the duties we were elected for."

Nevertheless, this statement provoked mockery and backlash on social media.

On X, congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene shared the aforementioned article by the Washington Examiner and wrote, “JUST IN: Voters back Marjorie Taylor Greene's impeachment of Mayorkas.”

Greene then shared a quote from the piece, “By a margin of 55%-33%, likely voters want the Homeland Security secretary out.“

“The American people want us to do the job we were sent to do. Impeaching Mayorkas isn’t just the right thing to do, it’s a popular thing to do!” added Greene.

In another tweet about Alejandro Mayorkas, Greene also said, “America is under attack! We have so many illegal aliens coming across our border every single day that we don’t have enough manpower to catch them all or staff vital Border Patrol checkpoints.”

She added, “Secretary Mayorkas isn’t just derelict of his duty, he’s inviting the invasion. #ImpeachMayorkas.”
