Backlash mounts as Marjorie Taylor Greene vows to resume 'failed' impeachment bid against Alejandro Mayorkas
WASHINGTON, DC: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene spent the last week attempting to have the Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas “honorably resign” after her botched attempt to impeach him.
As Mayorkas continues to retain his position, Greene has made another statement before the holiday break, that after Congress resumes, she will “reintroduce” her articles to impeach Secretary Mayorkas.
Greene also made an appearance on Fox News to talk about Mayorkas, and the internet wasn’t impressed as she faced backlash on X.

On X, Marjorie Taylor Greene announced another attempt to impeach Alejandro Mayorkas. She wrote, “Americans deserve security and sovereignty.”

The Rep. also wrote, “I will not stop fighting for border security and the rule of law. #ImpeachMayorkas.”
To accompany her announcement, Greene also shared a clip from her interview on Fox News.
Here, she spoke about her previous resolution to impeach Mayorkas and how it fell through after 8 Republicans voted against it, and claimed it was “absolutely outrageous.”
“I will bring my articles of impeachment back to the floor after we get back from the Thanksgiving break, and this time the Republicans in Congress better deliver different results,” said Greene.
She also said, “Mayorkas must be impeached, and the invasion must stop.”
