HUELVA, SPAIN: Patricia Rite, a popular influencer who documented and shared her journey after she was diagnosed with skin cancer, has died at the age of 30. Born in Huelva, Spain, Rite was diagnosed with the illness four years ago. During the last months of her life, she shared her journey on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram. She shared what it was like to live with cancer and also posted fashion content.

Rite's family confirmed the news of her death in a statement, saying, according to Daily Mail, "Patricia left us. Her mother and her relatives ask for respect in these hard times. Thank you to all the people, who in one way or another, gave her support and love during this time, directly or indirectly."

'Let's go little by little'

Rite's last post on Instagram was on April 5. She wrote, "Busy week, I was going to be treated on Tuesday but was finally admitted to hospital and treated on Friday. Since then, bad vomiting with an achy body until yesterday. I couldn't move from the bathroom and I felt terrible. Today, I feel a little stronger. Since yesterday, I haven't vomited and I've started eating, which I hadn't done since Friday, and I'm starting to improve. Let's go little by little."

Among several posts she shared from the hospital, she wrote in a March 20 post, "One more day from the bench of patience. I will give you a little summary. I spent the weekend with a fever and so far I'm still the same," adding, "during these days they're going to test me to see if the treatment can be started, you don't know how much I want to be able to move forward."

In another post earlier this year, Rite had expressed the hope to "get better little by little." "Also they have put me on morphine so I can go home pain-free and they have upped the dose of the medicine I take at home and hopefully with that everything will get better little by little. You already know I'm taking it easy and I've decided to give myself time to slowly go up," she had written in part.

'My heart just flipped'

Fans mourned Rite's death, with one user commenting on Instagram, "A huge hug to the whole family, I'm so sorry from the bottom of my heart." Another said, "I can't believe it.... Life is super unfair. Patriot... fly high, ever since I met you, you inspired me. My heart just flipped. RIP Beautiful, and a huge hug to your mother, family and friends." One said, "Patri a little bit of you has stayed in all of us, who followed you and had you as part of our family,, A very big hug to your family and friends and another for your "family" of networks."

"How sad, how unfair. I'm so sorry," one user said. "How is it possible that two weeks ago she was like this and today she is no more???? I don't get it. A huge hug to the family," another wrote.
