MOSCOW, IDAHO: While 28-year-old Bryan Kohberger has been arrested in relation to the sensational Idaho murders, people have started floating their own theories on the subject. Now, a Reddit user has suggested how Bluetooth may have helped in geotagging him. As mentioned in a couple of posts, users have hinted how Bluetooth from the white Hyundai Elantra along with DNA evidence may have led to Kohberger's arrest.

Kohberger was arrested in Pennsylvania on December 30 and slapped with four charges of first-degree murder as well as felony burglary, according to Latah County Prosecutor Bill Thompson. However, neither the suspect's motive nor his familiarity with the victims has been publicly revealed. Additionally, the murder weapon has not been found, according to Moscow Police Chief James Fry. Investigators have spoken to more than 300 people and looked through almost 20,000 tips in roughly seven weeks since the students were discovered dead from stab wounds in their off-campus home.

A redditor mentioned how the MAC address of a device functions when Bluetooth is turned on. As mentioned in the post, the location of a device is updated every 15 minutes along with the MAC address. If there was grain of truth to this theory, then the location of Kohberger's Bluetooth during the time would determine if he was at the crime scene in Moscow, Idaho. The case against the suspect will be solidified if both his DNA and location at the crime scene were proven to exist during the time of the murders.

A Reddit user wrote, "Please forgive me in advance for my lack of knowledge about technology. I am an older person. I’m reading that BH’s Bluetooth was trying to connect to a speaker in the house. If someone has tech knowledge, could this be way a way to spy on someone?"

The person continued, "Once in a while, my phone or husband’s phone will alert that a new device is trying to connect to our network and it’s kind of creepy because we know all the devices we have connected. Can someone with superior knowledge hack into privacy that way? Remember when people used to say the camera on your computer could be hacked? I used to cover it with a post it note lol worrying I was being watched. Anyway thank you for answering, I’m just really curious about that little detail."

According to two law enforcement sources, investigators narrowed in on Kohberger thanks to DNA evidence and by establishing his possession of a white Hyundai Elantra witnessed close to the crime scene. The Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Washington State University has confirmed that Kohberger, whom investigators reportedly said lived a short distance from the crime scene, is a PhD student.

According to a law enforcement sources, he traveled across the country in the said vehicle and landed at his parent's residence in Pennsylvania around Christmas. At some point during his journey from Idaho to the east, authorities started tracking him. “Sometime right before Christmas we were zeroing in on him being in or going to Pennsylvania,” sources told CNN. Before his arrest, an FBI surveillance team followed him for four days as law enforcement and prosecutors tried to establish enough probable cause to obtain a warrant, according to the law enforcement sources.
