‘Bad parenting’: Internet slams woman for joking about tattooing her baby twins to 'tell them apart'
A mother-of-three has reportedly been facing the internet's wrath for joking about getting her twin sons tattooed so she could tell them apart.
Jennifer, who is from the US, took to her TikTok handle on Tuesday, January 3, to share a video that captured her talking about how she was asked to go by a tattoo artist when she took her babies into a tattoo parlor to get inked. "When I took them there the guy said no, must be 18 years or older blah, blah, blah," she said in a TikTok video.

The mother, who goes by the username of Kaitlin_P123, then said that she found a new way and decided to give her babies temporary ones at home instead. She quickly took out some sticky fake tattoos and started showing them to her viewers. She decided on a little Jupiter tattoo for "Baby A" because he is a Pisces and a KO for "Baby B" because he was always trying to "knock her out." She giggled at first and attempted to tattoo her infants' heads before deciding to tattoo their hands.

The video, which was meant for a joke, soon garnered attention, with hundreds of users slamming Jennifer for even considering real tattoos. "You should be able to tell your own children apart, even if they are identical, wake up," one person wrote. "This is horrific, I can't believe you took your babies into a tattoo parlour. Bad parenting," another wrote. Some said that fake tattoos were a dangerous "back up idea." "There are so many nasty chemicals in those things, please don't use them on your children," another user commented. "This is tacky, they will wash off, and shows you don't care about them enough to know who they are," said another.
Others shared "better" ideas next time she decides she wants to be able to tell her childrem apart quickly. "Just put different clothes on them," another said. "Give them different bracelets, babies don't need tattoos," another chimed. "It is actually a great idea, just add a freckle or something to one, so you can tell them apart," one person said.
In a similar incident, a couple from Florida faced a lot of criticism after a viral TikTok video emerged of them getting their six-month-old toddler inked. Jayda Harris and her husband took their toddler, Stetson, to get his leg tattoed, back in August 2022, and uploaded the moment on the video-sharing app. The video has raked up more than 14 million views. Although the baby seemed to be very composed while showing only slight signs of confusion, people were alarmed by the video, promoting hundreds of horrified viewers to bash the couple.
