BUCHAREST, ROMANIA:  Andrew Tate has talked about his father Emory Tate on multiple occasions including on several podcasts, and recently he posted a picture of himself, standing on his father's grave, on Emory's eighth death anniversary.

'Top G' or 'Cobra', as known by his fans, is a former kickboxer-turned-influencer who is known for his controversial comments.

Internet reacts to Andrew Tate's tribute to late dad

On October 17, Tate took to X (formerly Twitter) to pay respect to his father on his 8th death anniversary.

He posted a picture of Emory’s grave, which had the words 'Emory Andrew Tate Jr, US Air Force, Born December 27, 1958, Died on October 17, 2005', written on it.



 

While many users paid tribute to Top G's father, some slammed him for 'standing' on his father's grave.

One user wrote, "Standing strong," while another user used an emoticon that means respect along with a red heart.

Another user said, "Every father who has a son like Andrew Tate will always be proud. Thank you Tate for saving humanity and leading young men to success."

Another user remarked, "I won't top g."

A user slammed Tate saying, "Respect your Ancestors!!! They have done their Job. Now you have to do yours!!!"

One user also slammed Tate for his actions, "Its Haraam Dude To Stand On The Graves."

How did Emory Tate die?

Emory Tate died on October 17, 2015, during a chess tournament in Milpitas, California, despite being taken to a local hospital. It was later revealed that he had suffered a heart attack.

He used the bathroom following his game's opening round. According to MSN, he asked one of his coworkers to call 911, when he got back to his seat. As soon as he called for help, he fell and lost consciousness. 

Emory Tate was a chess master of international repute. He was born on December 27, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. Emory was an inventive and skillful tactician on the US chess circuit after learning the game as a young boy.

Notably, the first black chess grandmaster, Maurice Ashley, had called him, "absolutely a trailblazer for African-American chess."
