'Lock him up!' Internet outraged as dementia-ridden porn star Ron Jeremy declared unfit for rape trial
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Disgraced porn star Ron Jeremy was accused of rape and sexual assault by 21 women. However, the 69-year-old is set to be declared incompetent to stand trial because of his 'severe dementia.' Even though there is speculation he is faking his symptoms, there is no evidence to support the claims.
Born as Ronald Jeremy Hyatt was indicted on 30 counts of sexual abuse after being accused by victims as young as 15 years old. Prosecutors alleged he restrained some of the victims and raped or sodomized them while the women were sleeping or unconscious, the abuse starting in the 1990s. Jeremy pleaded not guilty to charges including 12 counts of forcible rape, seven counts of forcible oral copulation, and six counts of sexual battery by restraint, DA George Gascón previously said, according to Daily Mail. Nonetheless, he will not face a rape trial due to his medical condition, according to a Los Angeles County prosecutor.

Until Jeremy's prognosis improvise he cannot be tried for his crimes. An internal email read, "Because criminal proceedings are suspended as long as he is incompetent, we also cannot get a guilty plea from him or discuss other measures to get justice for the victims in this case," reported the source. He was set to appear in a Hollywood courtroom on January 17 where he will be formally declared incompetent. After which it is believed the suspect would be placed in a state-run hospital. Jeremy is currently being held at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles County since his arrest in June 2020. His bail is set for $6.6 million.

Furious netizens still demand Jeremy be locked up in prison for his crimes. One user wrote on Twitter, "I'm sure he didn't have dementia when he committed all of that assault. Lock him up!" "He done enough regardless. Put him on my tax payroll," claimed another. "I don’t understand why they don’t lock him up and let him rot regardless. I bet if he defrauded the government for millions, he wouldn’t be declared “incompetent to stand for trial," read a tweet. One user mockingly wrote sharing a gif, "Don't worry, Nurse Ratched will take good care of him." A user added, "they better still lock him up idc." A user simply shared a gif of a man spitting out of disgust.
