NASSAU, THE BAHAMAS: The disgraced founder of FTX, Sam Bankman-Fried, was arrested in the Bahamas, where he had been hiding since the collapse of his $32 billion crypto empire. Exactly one month and one day after his company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, he was arrested and charged by American prosecutors, who are seeking his extradition. Now the Internet fears that SBF may suffer the same fate as Jeffrey Epstein, who was found dead in his prison cell. Since then, the term 'Epsteined' has become commonplace.

Jeffrey Epstein was a convicted sex offender who was found dead by guards in his cell at Metropolitan Correctional Center, New York. The New York City medical examiner determined that Epstein's death was a suicide by hanging, but that was not convincing enough for Epstein's lawyers. They launched their own investigation. It was determined that several violations of normal prison procedures had occurred on the night of his death, leading to theories that Epstein was murdered because he had vital information about numerous politically influential people. Returning to SBF, Bahamian Prime Minister Philip Davis has stated that the Bahamas and the US have a common interest in holding all those associated with FTX accountable. The Internet now fears that SBF may meet the same fate as Epstein, death under mysterious circumstances.

Internet fears SBF could be 'Epsteined'

One user made attacked the "corrupt people" and wrote, "RIP SBF. Dude is about to get Epsteined as a sacrifice to save face of all the corrupt people at the top" Another user tweeted, "Anyone else getting the feeling #SBF maybe getting #Epsteined or #Arkansized in the not too distant future?" Another user commented, "#SBF was scheduled to testify in front of the House Financial Services Committee. @HouseGOP was ready to grill him six ways to Sunday.
