This was just not Jess' day. With Felix and Murphy hiding things from her and that bombshell reveal about her girlfriend, Sterling, we are really worried for Jess

Spoilers for 'In the Dark' Season 2 Episode 5 'The Unusual Suspects'

This week's episode of 'In the Dark' came with some disappointing events for Jess Damon (Brooke Markham) as Murphy Mason (Perry Mattfeld) and Felix Bell (Morgan Krantz) took on the new task of delivering drugs — something they are keeping from Jess.

It may be for Jess' benefit — after all, if the cops come sniffing, Jess' lack of knowledge of what's going on behind her back might actually be better. Plus, Murphy and Felix are seeing how much Jess was freaking out over money laundering alone. If she found out that Murphy agreed to help Nia Bailey (Nicki Micheaux) drugs at Guiding Hope, the school for training guide dogs that they work at, Jess would probably lose it.

Of course, her friends hiding things from her and in doing so, betraying her, might hurt her more. And what's worse, she's really going to need her friends after that bombshell of a reveal at the end of the episode. We learned that Jess's girlfriend, Sterling (Natalie Liconti) — who she is getting really close to — actually works for Nia and is really Nia's henchwoman, Sam's (Cortni Vaughn Joyner) girlfriend.

And just when we were starting to like Sterling. Fans, like us, were disappointed to learn of the new developments and worry about what it means for Jess. One fan tweeted, "Now, now. Don't be doing that to my Jess. Great episode! #InTheDark," while another wrote, "The only thing more ruined [than] me is Jess' chances of finding a good woman #InTheDark."

A viewer tweeted, "Ben is lazy, Sterling is shady, every new character this season is bad! Gene and IRS guy are my only hopes." Another observed, "Jess!! Ugh, she deserves better. I was so happy for herrr #InTheDark." One fan shared, "Jess is the other woman, Sam is her girlfriend! That’s even worse."

With Sterling turning out to be shady and Jess almost spilling all the secrets to her, fans realize it might be better that Felix and Murphy keep her in the dark (pun intended). One fan wrote, "Jess, this is exactly why Felix and Murphy keep things from you. You're about to spill everything to this woman you DON'T EVEN KNOW. #InTheDark."

'In the Dark' airs on The CW on Thursday nights at 9/8c.
